I don’t care whoever the Rotters chase as long as they don’t look @Haas.

Matter of fact, I want the rumor about Union &/ the news about a French Union club willing to throw $M’s @ Haas louder as this might spook the Rotters to look away from Haas only for him to extend his stay with us.

Gut feeling.

He seems happy here, and will get a very good offer, so I'm not really too worried about another NRL team poaching him.

The dark horse would be the reported European union money. But I'm just not sure he'd be prepared to either leave his family or uproot his family to move to the other side of the world ... especially given some of the legal issues surrounding his family
Agreed. I just cannot see Haas leaving his family. I think that rules out playing Union overseas. Would he go to a different State to play League? Not sure. Would only be a quick flight home but then the offer would have to be a fair whack higher than what the Broncos could offer.

Unrelated but Benny Hunt seems like he'll leave with Hook getting the hook. Imagine if he comes home to play in the 9 jumper!?! We wouldn't be able to afford him but.

would be interested to know how much of his contract he has left to be paid this year and if the dragons were willing to kick in on top of that might not have to pay as much as you would think for this year atleast.

The problem for me is that even when hook moved him to 9, Hunt came out and said he didn't like playing there.

There is also strong rumours that the Bulldogs are very interested in getting him to partner Burton in the halves.

So, as much as I'd Iove Hunt to return to uscand commit to playing hooker, I just don't see it happening

Oh yeah, it was some pie in the sky stuff really. What he does for QLD in that position is awesome, even though that's not the position he wants to play. For QLD he understandably makes an exception.

Be fair, he wasn't getting a game with us unless we lost about 7 guys to injury. Probably allows to promote Sailor, Leota or preferably, Te Kura.
It's more that we've become a vulture target for Gus and the dogs... chicken sanga and now a back.

We have an ok season last year (without even making the 8) and we're a target for all the vultures again

Haas is more than likely going to market because he is clearly chasing money ( who can blame him either ). I dont buy this stuff that he wont leave his family. If that was the case his Father wouldnt be already talking to Union bosses.

That's a bit dramatic when the Broncos signed him at 22 years old and have never played him.
On top of Herbie, Flegler and Palasia, and Haas being targetted by union... the depth got hit hard last year as well.

We have one above average season last year and we're back on the menu for vulture clubs.

Just means heavy squad turnover so our recruitment and retention will need to be relentless to keep replacing the lost players.

I still think if Haas goes we need to hit up Superleague and try to get Matty Lees from St Helens.

It's just silly to call out "vulture clubs" when the Broncos got him from the Roosters Flegg side. He played Flegg for the Roosters in 19 then came back up here to Souths in 21.

Just replying because I don't know if you saw my tag previously, is it true Te Kura has signed on to 2025 or 26?
