Maybe he's thinking he's earned enough money and is looking to win a premiership before he retires (and is willing to take the pay cut to do so). If so, we would be the best option in qld.

If Staggs or Cobbo left early you would have to use their money to find a backline replacement. Our backline depth isnt sufficient enough to cover one of them leaving this year.

Mam limbo aside, l’d sooner see us try and scavenge a decent second rower or outside back from whichever team lands Hunt, if it is in fact a Queensland team. Surely the signing team will face a salary cap pinch and reshuffle to make it happen.
Some appear far fetched, but in an ideal world some targets I’d love to see considered include Lemuelu/Keeley, Alick/jojo Fifita, Chester/Derby/Laybut

IMO: He will be rubbed out for about a year

That's literally it, Redcliffe recruiters had a massive day. Didn't give up anything else.

Munster took a reported 200k pay cut but is still getting $1 million a year.

Wighton took a reported 300k pay cut and signed with Souths for 800k a year.

Even if Hunt takes that kind of pay cut, that's still more than we can afford. He would have to take a minimum 50% pay cut and there is no way the NRL are letting that happen. Other clubs have tried in the past, it got shut down.
