Definitely agree there. John Batemans work ethic and how he puts in 100 every game would be amazing for Brisbane Broncos. Still fingers crossed on Hunt and Upton as well.

I don't think Bateman is toxic like people think. I just think he doesn't suffer fools and he had to put up with quite a few of them at Tigers.

Good point, and I think you're right. Ricky probably caused a lot of the negative press regarding him too. I should have been more careful with my words.

Bateman is a signing I could really get behind. We are in desperate need of a hard nosed back rower. Apparently tigers are keen to offload him so it’s entirely possible if they chip in say 200k of his reported 650k per year salary then we could easily afford him. This would mean we couldn’t get Hunt though but tbh he is likely going to end up at the roosters.

Controversial opionion, but I think a committed Bateman, especially if the tigs chip in and we get him for 500k or under, would be better for the makeup of our side than Hunt. Bateman is still a great second rower and can play in the middle if needed - pretty much the exact player we need. I'd still love to have Ben back, but Bateman on sub-500k vs Hunt on 900k or whatever the hell the rorters/ phins have pumped his price up to is an obvious choice given the state of our 2rf.

We just need to pray Arey stays fit for the 12 or so rounds that Mam is banned for.
