Bateman has been at four clubs in four years and is paying $1.01 to not come back to the Tigers.

He’s lied to the Raiders and never sees a deal through. He’s Lodge again.

That’s all been quite well documented but would we even want him past his current contract length? He’s got old legs, I wouldn’t really care if he did a hit and run at this point in his career. He’s not a long term signing.

If we believe we’re still in our premiership window with our last year of Reyno before we have to go through the teething process of a new successor, an older head like him would nicely complement the roster if we trust Madge to keep him in check. And for all his strengths, I don’t think that was one of Kevvies, so I feel more comfortable in us signing the odd abrasive player now.

This is all a big if, as I doubt this even amounts to anything or if they’ve even truly met. But I’d be for the signing short term. Plus manly seem to have moved on and signed Michael Chee Kam, so that’s one less suitor.

I know that you know that we can't swap Walters for Hunt without releasing more cap space, so this is not going to happen as simplistically as you state. Who else do we release?

Not one club in the nrl is going to take Billy Walters so you can get rid of him but you aren’t freeing a cent on the cap because we will still have to pay him.

I personally cant see how we fit him under the cap. but any one else with better contacts hearing anything similar?

Billy Walters is that shit of a player he couldn't even make it into the Tigers aka wooden spooners team. The only reason he's seen time in the Brisbane Broncos team is because of his father. Kevin himself was an absolute terrible coach and it was only his name and previous playing experience that seen him get into the head coaching postition.

If he cares about his legacy and wants to give himself the best chance of winning a comp he'll sign with us. We just have to pray that he sees it that way and doesn't buy into the BS the spin masters at the dogs and rorters (who are both no chance of competing with riff, storm, or us if we play at our potential) are trying to sell him.
