Hetherington and Paix are on around $600K total, Mam likely isn't going to come under the no-fault stand down policy.
You'd have to sweeten the pot more for it to pass the smell test.

Paix has refused all attempts at offloading him when playing under a coach who refused to play him so why would he do it now when he has been told he is playing under a clean slate and has every chance of getting back into the side?

If we are in fact taking a look at Bateman, you’d imagine the club would explore leveraging the interest Wests reportedly showed in Hetho. As with others here, I love Hetherington as a Bronco, but unless he adds a string to his bow to play an edge competently, he is sadly surplus to our team composition in what he offers.
If Bateman is deemed a suitable replacement and we swap Kobe for minimal if any extra freight we get a player that covers so much more of our roster gap and Kobe gets a much clearer path to lock. He also brings that bit of c*nt into our pack we kinda lack to who gets in the oppositions face (other than Staggs in the last 5 minutes of a game when we’ve already lost).

He's in the last year of his contract now... if Broncos arent looking to offer him a deal and some other club are offering him a 3yr deal, incl 2025... I think he would take it and ask for a release.
As of November 1 2025 he doesnt have a salary lined up.
It was different this year, because he had 18 months or so to figure out what he wanted to do.
It happens all the time in the last year of a deal... Capewell wanted a release because wahs were giving him security... Gutho left because dargs offered him a longer deal... Bhunt is leaving to secure a longer deal, etc.
Managers are basically looking to have their players sorted out 12 months in advance... Paix is now inside his 12 months.
You know things are happening when a story pops up that ... "Paix is keen to secure a new deal" and it contains quotes from his manager that he'd love to stay in Brisbane but is willing to move to secure a deal

I think we’re in with a shot. Roosters seem to be in a slight rebuild of their roster, Dolphins have lost Wayne Bennett so I assume they may decline a bit.
If Ben Hunt is actually chasing premierships not money, which I think would be a real possibility considering how much money he’s made over his career at the dragons & the fact that he is 34 and he doesn’t have much time left in the game.
I think us and the Doggies are probably his best chance.
