Well I will upload them.

Edit:

It was better live. He deadset looked like a 4 year old who just had it's candy stolen. It was dead set the best look from any player on the field.

Totally agree - It means shit. But just trying to prove the point to AP that Bennett is still a master coach and what he achieved this year is remarkable.
how is what he did remarkable? wouldnt you say that what Henjak has achieved this year is even more remarkable? took over a team that was in shambles because of his predecessor, and has got them to within 1 win of a grand final after beating the minor premiers who were coached by the man who ruined his team.[/quote:w4z4ak65]

Firstly, Wayne didn't "ruin" our club. Stop showing your ignorance. Wayne had NO control over who came and who went at the end of 2008, let's make that clear.

Secondly, with the amount of stars that are in our team, we SHOULD have finished higher on the ladder. Have you also forgotten that we went through the WORST patch of losses in our clubs history? Sure, we're on a role and a lot has got to do with Henjak but I'll be damned if a lot of that has nothing to do with the amount of stars we have on show in our team.

So no, Henjak's achievements have nothing on what Wayne achieves this year.[/quote:w4z4ak65]

Spot on - obviously anti-WB fans will view this whole ordeal separately. I give HUGE props to Henjak (for what his done this year) but I'm not either here or there when it comes to his coaching, I want to see more of him before I make a call. However, there is no doubt our roster plays a significant part to where we are at now. If we were not so star studded - I'm sure we would have turned up to play and shown true pride in our jerseys but there is no way we would have won a couepl of the matches we did. (namely the both St George games)

WB did an excellent job on the dragons IMO. Sure it is heart-wrenching to be a dragon fan this past decade but let's be brutally honest - not many thought the dragons would be minor premiers let alone premiership favs before round 1 this season. People forget to put things into perspective sometimes IMO.

We did suffer our worse loss in history this year, but we have had slumps for years now. I even remember a bad slump in 2006. To put things in perspective, this year has not been that much different from previous years. For Bennett, his slump came at the worst possible time, just entering the finals.

The real test for Henjak and Bennett will come in the next 1-2 years, especially for the dragons. Every team seems to do really well when they get a new coach, the change inspires a new attitude and generally lifts the team. But that does wear off, and next year will provide the real test. I am not saying WB will fail, because he isn't a typical coach, he is far better than the rest, but only time will tell if he can make St George Illawarra as successful as the Broncos.

As for Soward, does anyone have any pics of him lying on the ground a few minutes before full time? I love how he just bounces up when no one cares and he isn't given a penalty. [icon_confu

I don't think he was trying to milk a penalty, i thought he had a strained a muscle or something.

When the penalty wasn't awarded he recovered quickly.

I believe you mean "its candy". Being the grammar hero you are you'd know that, right? ;-)

Alright. I don't really care TBH, we won the game and that's what matters.

Hearing a lot of Dragons fans crying about the Mcintyre system not giving the minor premiers enough advantage.
While I prefer the AFL system I think the McIntyre system gives 1 and 2 the best possible chance to get into the prelim.
Maybe you could argue they deserve to retain the home ground advantage if they lose but seriously if you can't beat 8 and 6 how do you expect to beat 4 then whoever survives from the knockouts.

They had a massive advantage, the only way they could have got a bigger advantage was to automatically get the first week off.

Bitter.

Dragons fans are Sore losers... I went to my mates place today and his Dad is a Dragons fan, I wore my Broncos jersey and he would not even look at me let alone talk.

I agree - they had an advantage, any team that loose the first two games of the finals against teams from the bottom of the 8 don't deserve to be in a grand final - typical St George - looking to blame someone else, bunch of chokers!

Great allround performance by a side that is in great form. We didn't drop the intensity for the whole 80 and just like last time against them that proved to be the difference, if you play hard through the middle and pressure Soward both in attack and defense the Dragons look terribly average.

Awesome win. We haven't hit a team that hard in defence in years. Very proud of the boys. We've won our last two against those bastards. I could get used to this.

What I think the problem with the McIntyre system is the closeness of the competition. The salary cap has realized a situation where the teams are much more competitive and close than they used to be. This is shown in many of the results and the number of upset wins that were produced during the season. With that closeness there is less advantage in team 1 playing team 8 that was evident years back. That is obvious with team 8 beating team 1 two years running.
This is not just my opinion but that of many more league experienced than me.

Agree with jim. The comp is too even for mcintyre to work.

I don't think there's much advantage playing team 4 either though.

Best bet is to let team 1 pick their opponent out of the bottom 4 of the 8.

Did anyone see Soward wrap his arms around Folau to stop him jumping for the bomb that Sailor ended up catching? Should have been a penalty right then... It was early on in the game or was i the only one to see this?
