34-22 at fulltime. I would have liked for them to score less, but we will take the win for sure. Ennis is finding good from and Wallace is continuing his.

Good win by the boys, sets it up for next week against the Titans

Great effort by the forwards, FANTASTIC return to form by Ennis and awesome to think that Locky, Parker and Marsh were missing from that line-up.

Course it would've been nice to restrict their point scoring, but tbh I wasn't expecting a win today so this is just a major bonus icon_thumbs_u

Great to see your always confident there Mick haha it was great to see Ennis hitting peak form. I think Marsh has the potential to be devastating off the bench.

That was a good win. I don't envy those who made the trip up to Newy!

Joel Clinton...arrrgh. At least 3 dropped balls!

Hopefully we'll step up our defence on Friday for the top (ish) of the table clash.

no intensity at all today, line speed was slow, defence was dreadful., and there was a momentum shift in the second half when duro knocked the ball down and knights got the feed......... Ennis was great!.... Sims has dropped in form since rd 3........

I was really impressed with Ennis today.

We were ok today without being great. Good to see us get a result when we are not on our A game. Ennis was excellent, thought Wallace steered us pretty well again and was helped a lot by Ennis today. Thaiday was better and Hunt was good today. Ennis and Carroll were the picks for me. Knights showed especially without Simpson and Mullen they will not win the spoon. Good result pretty average performance.

I spent all pre-season defending our signing of Joel Clinton to my mates.

"I think he'll thrive on Brisbane's structure" I said. "Bennett will get the best out of him."

He's making me look very stupid.

Give him a few more weeks he is coming back from injury. Knee injurys usually take a bit to get the confidence back.

How do you explain his last few years at the Panthers? He dropped a fair bit of ball in the first round for us too.

I'm still going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but I'm praying he isn't Carlaw v2.0.

Yea weird game, thought we were a tad ordinary especialy in defence, but thank the lord for Mick Ennis! Man it is good to finally have a 2 hookers lol

Ennis showing us what he can do. I always knew he was a quality hooker. Definitely needs to start every game, and let Marsh come in when the opposition forwards are tired.

Yep, ease up on Joel Clinton, it's a bit early to be jumping down his neck. Conditions were wet as well.

Personally, i thought we played fairly poorly today. We made a number of stupid mistakes after gaining a dominate position.

Our forwards hardly got on top of the Knights pack, and there were a fair few gaps in our line.

Our backs weren't too flash either.

Just an average performance IMO, yet we still won which is always a great sign. icon_thumbs_u

IMO, our best two players were Thaiday and Ennis. Thaiday did a massive amount of work in defence, and Ennis was outstanding out of dummy half, plus his kicking was excellent and of course his support play.

I'm not a 100% on this, but did WB revert back to his tactics of keeping Taylor on the bench and Moon for that matter when the Knights began to start dominating? How are youngsters like that going to learn how to cope in pressure situations if they never get the chance to experience one? [icon_shru

I also thought the referee was rather poor. He missed a few offsides and obstructions and IMO the Knights were allowed to hold down in the ruck much longer than we were.

At the end of the day we won, and that's what matters.

Forgot to mention, i loved Wallace's vision when he put that kick through for Kemp. Haven't seen that in a Broncos team for a while.

Did anyone else think Gidley's first try shouldn't have been awarded? Stagg was trailing him across field and was close enough to make a legs tackle and he was taken out by a knights support runner. I don't think they would have scored had Stagg not been taken out. He was also bumped by a knights player when trying to cover Gidley's second try.

Spot on about Wallace. He's fast becoming my one of my favourite players. Not since Alf have I looked forward to seeing our halfback get the ball. I've been downright afraid the last few seasons!

But I reserve the right to put shit on Clinton! God knows I've been sticking up for him long enough now.

Holding onto the ball is the most fundamental skill in footy. If he made up for his errors by breaking the line every now and then (like Taylor) or putting on a big hit (like Sammy T - both whom have been known to drop a ball or two) I'd be more inclined to forgive him. We're just lucky that he's only made these mistakes when it hasn't REALLY mattered.

When Parker comes back into the side, on form he would have to be the one pushed out.

Also of concern for me was Hodges. Clearly he isn't fit and played due to the other withdrawals which is to be commended. However, I feel he was directly responsible for the first 2 Knights tries due to overcommiting. Don't like to bag him out as he had a good game other than that.
