Broncos Vs. Raiders - Build Up Thread

Lockyer should not play and the team shouldn't need him to play..

well, i'll be at the game cheering us on, but i've already relegated to the truth that we won't do it. the way we've been going we don't deserve to make the 8.

but it would sure be agonising if we were to win by 12 or 14 this week..

Well, if we try buying it, the Raiders might ask too much... [icon_lol1.

Seriously though, we need to win by 15 pts to get our F/A to -10 and the Raiders to -11.

What if the Dragons beat the Rabitoes do we still need to thrash the Raiders? Also if the Rabbits beat the Dragons can we still make it???

If the Rabbitohs beat the dragons were rooted, they have a far superior for/against.

We need St.George to beat the Rabbits, and we need to beat the raiders by more than 15.

It's that simple [icon_wink

Seriously tho. Do the Broncos deserve to be in the 8?

That's certainly arguable, but that's the way it is while we have a top 8 finals system. I don't think any team that ran 8th over the years deserves to be in the finals but that's because the NRL have made it clear that the top 8 is hear to stay.

Top 5 or Top 6 would be better and see the teams in there who deserve to have a shot, but it's not gonna happen.

I am kinda worried we are going to get raped on Friday night.. Cue in the rack so to speak. I hope the club has a good Sports Psychologist.

So how much do we have to win by?

I think we need to win by either -10 or 5 million icon_thumbs_u

Knowing that we have to win by a big margin might be a good thing for us. We know we have to score and score a lot of tries, it might see us willing to offload a bit more and throw the ball around, which could work to our favour. Hopefully Ben Hunt starts, he doesn't have that much to lose and has a lot to gain, with a big performance and leading the Broncos to a win it could see him leapfrog Wallace in the team. Not all hope is lost, and it should make for a great atmosphere and an entertaining game.

The Broncs are a grand club and I know making the finals the 19th consecutive time would be a big thing.

It is obvious Locky's not 'really' ready ATM judging by what is in the papers and how we know rib injuries... so he plays this game then he's out the next week against the Dragons... is there a real point to this?

Deep down I want Locky to play but I just don't see the sense of playing him JUST to make the finals and then have a no-locky team the following week in a 1v8 match.... making it just for the SAKE of making it.... mehs IMO. (ala 2003)

Im all for leaving Locky out and going for pro - but seriously... if the last 3 weeks tell us ANYTHING>.. [icon_drun [icon_drun [icon_drun [icon_drun [icon_drun [icon_drun

... then it's that our losses have 25% to do with Locky being out in the context of what we did to Souths without him, our great performances until recently, and then the f***ing nose dive over the last month.

It's a lot more than just Locky.

Whoever plays, on current form, Raiders by 40, and we hang our heads in shame (given how fantastic we played earlier in the season).

It's not going to teach them anything important at this stage. They need to learn to put the effort in all season. If they get to the finals, they're going to take it for granted.

Agree. What I'd like them to do is have a cracker of a final game. Win by 14 points. Souths lose to St George-Illawarra. And they miss out on the finals by a solitary point in FnA.

Why? What better way to learn than to go "shit, if I'd just put that little bit more effort in during the season we would've made it".

Finally someone gets it.... icon_thumbs_u The best thing our squad can take out of this season is that there 2010 performance has not been good enough. More consistency is required to be a quality team.
