Broncos Vs Sharks Match Thread

Our kicking game was 1000x better than it has been all season, our kicks continually finding the grass between the winger and fullback.

Wallace had his best game of 2010 by far. Locky was good as well running the ball more some good kicks in behind the line as well. Gillett was great at center, i would probably leave him there until Hodges returns.

Hoffman really looked the part at the back as well. goo running and kick return game.

overall a much better performance than we have had for a month, but we still have more work to do before the Bulldogs game. on numerous occasions the Sharks had a 2 or 3 man overlap, but they were unable to take advantage of them.

Wallace finally stepped up the plate today it was good to see. I thought Lui was decent but IMO is much better suited to playing an impact role off the bench. Gillett is a machine he is a powerhouse. Hoffman out back gives our attack another dimension IMO. I don't think we gave the ball to Folau enough IMO.

Awesome game to be at that one. I was 7 rows back right on the try line where Gillett went in first half. My son loved it as well.

Very proud of the boys today. I knew we would win but not by a lot! The only disappointing thing was when we went on a lull towards the end.

Just putting it out there but pretty sure I love Gillett!

Happy with that. Yeh would've been nice to see us go the full 80 minutes but just happy to get the 2 points and put 40+ points on them. Lockyer and Wallace controlled the game well. Locky will be a lot better for that run - looked as if he was getting right back into his comfort zone and will take a lot of confidence from his performance.

I thought we looked a lot more dangerous with Hoffman at the back - he made some nice kick returns and chimed in nicely with Lockyer on the set plays. Also liked how he took a few hitups to help out the big boys.

Up front I thought Anderson was very impressive off the bench. Interesting to note that his best 2 performances this year now have been off the bench. Made some great charges and always landed on his belly - really good for quick play the balls and helped our momentum.

Not perfect by any means but a good barrier trial for Friday night. Confident we can give the Bulldogs a run for their money.

Quite impressive. The only bad thing I can take from the game is our lack on defence when the Sharks started moving the ball.

We need to fix that up. Against the likes of Melbourne, we could have gone very close to losing that.

The first half completions were brilliant.

Agreed. And on the whole game we completed 32/40 so that's pretty damn good IMO.

For those of you keen to watch the replay, it's on at 9pm on FoxSports.

Broncos have to re-sign Gillet, he will be the hottest property on the marker if he keeps up the way he is playing. Very Very impressed with our completion's in the first half only 2 mistakes and one of them was a knockon on the 5th off a bomb. I note that Paul Gallen said after the game that the Broncos would of beaten any team in the comp with our first half. I dont know if i would go as far as that but we played 100% better then we did against the Warriors and Roosters.

One thing that worried me in the second half was our lack of ability to lock the ball uo and the amount of second phase ball the sharks were able to generate. A team with more confadence probally would of put more points on us in that second half. Our defence is what needs to improve, Sharks scored the most points they have against us today.

Gillett was so good defensively that it's so tempting to have him permanently in the centres until Hodges is back. Especially considering how well Thaiday, Parker and Teo played today in the 11,12 and 13.

Agree Rock. The whole Gillett man love thing on some threads is a premature IMO but he has hardly put a foot wrong in 6 games.

His reads in D today were so good, and the lines he runs inside the 20 make him dangerous when he gets the ball and as a decoy. Very impressive and looks like he is in at least his 3rd year of NRL.

Not sure what Ivan was thinking with Macca starting on the bench but it did seem to work and when he did get on he played really well. Lots of variety in his game with some good dummies and scoots and some great kicks both attacking and also for field position. Cant wipe the smile off my face atm :D

Hard to fault really anybody for me except prob Beale.....surely hunt is the better option when we have guys like Gillet, Teo and Glenn in the team who can cover all backline and backrow spots. Beale to me is a bit of a waste.

For now.

Given Hoffman has 3 years on Norman and Norman just became a fullback, it'd be telling on Hoffman if he wasn't.

I don't believe Norman is a fullback TBH. Looks to me to be a very good chance of developing into a 5/8th
