Broncos vs Tigers - live scores here

Personally, i think Ennis kicks when he sees an opportunity to make ground i.e. a quick pickup and kick from dummy half.

That doesn't allow time to communicate with team mates, they need to be ready for that.

I thought Hunt should've gotten the MOTM...

Agreed, he really stepped up in leadership tonight and also had a hand in most opportunities we had.

how the hell did Thaiday get man of the match!?!?! he made 19 hitups, but i reckon he made 50m at best in those! all he did all night apart from 1 good run was get it straight off the ruck and head directly back at the markers, only making 2-3m in the process! he was absolutely horrible IMO.

that was deadset one of the worst matches ive ever seen, made only slightly interesting because it was so close.

So i'm guessing you reckon Hunt was MOTM then?

They shouldn't have given a MOTM award. All 34 players were terrible. It was a shocking game.

Yeah but out of the Broncos, Hunt was the one that did really well.

Says on NRL.com he made 11 hitups for 121 metres, that's pretty good.

we all know Frank can't say a good thing about Hunt [icon_lol1.

Agreed Frank, but I think Hunt was solid... not really horrible.

Honestly, I reckon Marsh or Emmett were our best but it was a damn hard match to pick. That big bugger in jersey #18 for the Tigs, or even Chris Heighington, should've been MOTM really. They were the two standouts in my books, despite being on a losing team.

there was not a single standout player, they were all horrible.[/quote:jyh4o5sg]

As was the atmosphere at the ground. It was like a morgue.

Agree with mick, although I don't really agree with MOTM to the losing sides, but i think tigers had better individual performers thats for sure.

Is Farah playing with an injury or something? He doesn't seem comfortable and himself out there, or is it just Tigers are in a momentum slump with the missing forwards etc? I've been watching him lately, he hasn't been himself imo.

I guess most teams struggle badly with their superstars out these days, but we really do seem to have trouble this year without the attacking trio of Locky/Hodges/Hunt, obviously Hunt did his best in a disoriented team, but he also didn't look comfortable out there.

Parker hasn't been the same since he has come back from injury which is expected, tbh never been a huge fan of Parker in the first place, he's the new Tate imo, which is to never pass when you should, or throw hospitals when you do with the bonus of running sideways... still, I think he will gain momentum towards the back end of the season.

Sims... first three rounds, I said to myself, finally a forward the broncos were looking for! Since then he's been borderline mediocre and I think I've been easy on him because of his early form, he trys very hard, I won't deny that, but he needs to step up, he can't be a firestarter every week, but still should be the fiery punch in our pack. Did he even play in the Tigers game? I was nodding on and off because I was watching it on the tape after i came home.

All in all, I think as long as we are somewhere in the top 6 with a bit of momentum towards the end, we can be a force in the business end of the season, but we will not be able to defeat melbourne without Lockyer. That is the truth.

The best player for either side was Thaiday.

It was a win. I'll complain when we play crap with Wallace and Lockyer back.

Marsh?

Apart from that try saving tackle PJ was invisible last night. I think he was playing in the halves but he barely touched the ball at all, dummy half is definitely his best position.

Next week I think our best chance would be with Ennis at half, Moon at 6 and Marsh at hooker.

What concerns me is that it's not our forwards with all our injuries it's our backs. With virtually a full strength forward pack against a make-shift pack from the Tigs, we still didn't have the handle on them. Also, where did all the offloading go that happened at the start of the year? I'm struggling to remember 1 in the game last night yet we still seem to concede soo many.

We may very well be getting back to full strength towards the end of the season but if the forwards don't sort their shit out, it won't make much difference.

We have no real leadership. And Bennett - yeah yeah, the myth is well earned in years gone by, seems not to be helping.

I repeat my earlier view - without the real and genuine leadership that Lockyer provides, we are a mere shadow of what we could be, although Hunt did try a bit last night, but he's no Lockyer, as far as leadership and organization are concerned.

And I will admit that Wallace will also make a big difference, but it's Lockyer who's the key to any chance we have of making the 8 this year.

Oh gee, thanks scoop. I had no idea that without our best player and captain that we are nowhere near as good as when he is playing

But Jeb, isn't the point that we should have someone who can take over the reigns - maybe not as well as the great Locky, when he's out?

Or are we really a one-man band? That surely isn't good for our great team, especially with Bennett leaving next year.

So who's going to fill Locky's shoes (or knee brace [icon_razz1 ) while he's out and particularly when Locky retires?

Wallace? Possibly, but is he guaranteed more than 1 season with us? Hunt? Certainly not so far... hmmmm
