We didn't get Latu for a bad price. I've got no doubt at all that, if he continues on as a regular member of the team and keeps improving, he'll need an upgrade. .

I was laughing because you called him Latu! [icon_lol1.

I didn't know he was playing for us, that Lagi Setu fella on the other hand, is a cracking player. icon_thumbs_u

No worries, I could tell.

Horrific. That's what working until midnight for the state election and getting up at 5am will do to you. I'll see myself out. icon_thumbs_u

My two cents worth again on Karmichael. It's a bit rich to expect players to show absolute loyalty to the clubs (as was the case 15-30 years ago) as Doordan seemed to expect, when the clubs treat it very much as a business these days and move players on when it is expedient for the club because they have young talent coming through to accommodate. It has happened here, eg Lewis, Miles, Hohn, Gillmeister etc. I'm not saying it is wrong, it is just business.

If Karmichael can double or more his money by going to union overseas, and if his nose is out of joint about what happened last year, more power to him. We would be better off letting him go with our best wishes and ensuring that he knows he is welcome back if things do not work out or he finds he is not enjoying it. I have no problem with what either the club or Karmichael has done. I just hope that we do somehow manage to retain him. I hope he realises that it is a big step to move away from family support, friends to a place where you don't speak the language and know the culture.

Agree - I don't expect me to stay working for the one place my whole career and would definitely move on if I wasn't happy and I had other opportunities elsewhere (and let's face it if the money was better, within reason depending on the actual job), so I really don't expect footballers to do it. I just want him to make a decision one way or the other really soon so that he can focus 100% on this season and the club knows where they stand and if they need to get in the market for a new fullback for next year. I hate when contract negotiations just drag on.

Oh and give him credit, at least he is being completely upfront about his intentions and not doing a Sonny Bill on us. The other thing for him to think about is that the grass may not be all that greener. A lot of the japanese rugby clubs are owned or heavily sponsored by japanese corporations. The japanese economy has absolutely tanked, I really wonder if there is going to be the money available that there might have been last year. Could be Eddie blowing smoke up his bum (how could you trust anything Eddie Jones says anyway).

I don't really think he is being upfront. This has been going on for weeks now, and his intentions are still not clear. I could be wrong, but I have read from various sources that he could only be offered $800 000 a season overseas in rugby. Would it really be worth it to give up playing for your own country and state? Many others have made the transfer and end up coming back because it isn't as satisfying.

In a time where people are losing their jobs (real jobs not football careers), and having massive debts to pay, I think it is a bit rich for players asking for more. Particuarly when many clubs have realised that gate takings this year will diminish due to the downturn. I am not expecting loyalty and for a player to stay with one club forever, but I do expect timely decisions and some common sense, and not let pure greed take over.

I don't think that K's decision has much to do with the money or league vs union TBH. I genuinely think he is really questioning his place in the world right now, is feeling a bit disillusioned and overwhelmed and really doesn't know what he wants or where he wants to be. I think some people forget how young he still is and especially how young he was when he first "made it". I think he really needs to take time out, get some genuine clarity (and advice from people with absolutely no vested interest in what he does) and then get back to doing whatever he thinks is best for him. And let's face it he is still so young - he can easily go to Japanese Rugby and have plenty of time to come back and re-commence a stellar league career.

I think he is an arrogant kid who (with the help of his manager) wants to hold the Broncos, the NRL and any other potential suitors to the highest dollar he can get. Last years incident clearly changed his ambitions or perspective on being a one club player as it is not as high a priority for him now obviously.

I think his manager is a mercenary who wants to shop him around for the highest dollar. I think K is being too easily led.

I'd say he's a confused little boy. He's only young, imagine if someone started throwing these kinds of firgures at you at that age.

I'm not going to comment because I am not involved in the discussions between Hunt and his manager. Maybe they are being greedy (certainly looks that way), maybe there are other factors at play here that we are not privy to either way I would be sad to see him go. The reality is in this day and age it is just about impossible to keep a roster that includes, Lockyer, Falou, Hodges and Hunt.

Wow!! Someone for you to relate to!!!

From what I can deduce I am older than you and when exactly have I ever talked myself up? You really don't do yourself any favours to the growing crowd that think you make every discussion an argument and then turn every argument into a personal attack. You had no basis for this insult and you have no knowledge or evidence to back it up, but this is what I come to expect from you.
