Interesting - I was talking about this with a mate a week or so back, what would we do if we were Hunt?
I would like to think I would stay if I was Hunt, his situation, there is so much on the table for him in league and its not just about the dollars in his case... I hope he stays but I would understand if he goes. He's 22... very understandable to make a money decision at that age IN this day and age.
However if the situation was similar for like a Colin Best or something I would def take the money!

I honestly beleive that our next home game, we boo him everytime he touches the ball, just so he know how we think of him.
Seriously these players are screwed in the head, we nurture these players at a young age take care of there family etc, then when it gets to there heads they want to go.

It seems like every 3months or so we get some random idiot that pops up and either slags off the Broncos or talks up Elia Tuqiri too much. Good thing they stand out from everyone else

Anyways.... last night I thought Hunt was excellent, he looked dangerous running close to the line and was very safe as usual. The thing about Hunt is, while we would miss him, he can be replaced. So while I would like to retain him on a reasonable amount of money, if he's asking for too much then we should probably be showing him the door.

It's going to be tough for us to retain our team much past this year. I see 09, and possibly 2010, as our biggest chance.

But look at the backline and five-eighth alone! Hunt, Folau, Hodges and Lockyer could all demand $400k elsewhere, at least. That's $1.6 million, near enough to half of a team's cap, on the fullback, two centres and pivot. Full-on.

I really think we need to take our chances this year for that very reason. Parker, Wallace and Thaiday wouldn't be on peanuts either, and it's clear that the likes of Taylor, McCullough, Kenny and Latu at least will really be requiring contract upgrades in the coming year. Ditto either Winterstein and Yow Yeh, or possible both.

We didn't get Latu for a bad price. I've got no doubt at all that, if he continues on as a regular member of the team and keeps improving, he'll need an upgrade. Add to that the fact that Te'o only signed for one year, and the Broncos do have pretty big contract issues on the horizon.

I stand by the fact that either Hunt, Hodges or Lockyer will have to be moving on pretty soon.
