Broncos youngsters under threat from poachers.

The thing I always liked about him, was that he is relatively quick, so he carries the ball with good leg speed. He doesn't just amble in to the defence like some of the other forward do.

Off topic, but the issue of running styles springs to mind, and the relevance they have on a forward's impact. The one that impresses me a lot atm is Chris Grevsmuhl ... a Queenslander of course, who also attacks the line and always makes great metres and is hard to tackle. Wonder why the Cowboys let him go.

I also rate Frei but for whatever reason he hasn't made it. Sims brothers are absolutely losses.

1. Hunt
2. Robinson
3. Gagai (that's one we definitely just forgot)
4. Beale
5. Hoffman
6. Norman
7. ??
8. Kims
9. Granville
10. TLL
11. Tims
12. Frei
13. Timu

not a lot there other than Kims, Tims, Gagai and Hunt right?

What about the worlds biggest halfback? Dave Taylor.

The only real losses there are Hunt and Granville.

Where bennet even play Norman? The only scenario is if bennet views milford the same as Barba and oy held on to him this season due to a lack of other half options. Seems very unlikely though.

At the moment Norman is playing much better than milford as hard as that is to say.

This may be the single most hated sentence ever uttered on bhq so prepare yourselves;
I think a straight swap of milford for Norman would benefit both clubs and players. I think the eels are a far better team by having a spine of Peats, Sandow, Foran, Milford. Milford would benefit a lot from playing eels type football, it'd be amazing to watch.

Broncos would have a more balanced side by having a spine of Macca, Hunt, Norman, Boyd. You can hate it but Norman would compliment Hunt a lot. He can organise, kick and pass.

Go easy on me...

Izzy was never our product though. Don't think you can apply that quote to him.

Yep exactly. I thought about Izzy and Teo but neither were our products.

Dave Taylor was the first to come to my mind. He had so much potential. If Wayne was coach at the time and not Henjak, DT would be one of the best players in the game IMO. Such a terrible waste of talent.

I'm not sure about that, i wouldn't be surprised if DT played out his Broncos career in the ISC had Wayne stayed. He's certainly said a few things about Dave having no conscience and doing anything he thought he could get away with. Didn't he once publicly describe Dave as the laziest player in rugby league?

Dunno if he said it in public but I do recall hearing something on the lines that is what Bennett thought of him outside the public eye, the type of player who has all the potential in the world, but not the will or mental toughness to do the hard yards to achieve it, I think Bennett was trying hard not to rush him but rather have him earn his spot and Taylor wasn't too keen on that.

He'd be about right with that comment haha.. I agree he's lazy, but I also think Wayne could have gotten the best out of him - he wouldn't have let him get away with rubbish.

Whether Dave would have matured or not is another issue I guess. Maybe he just doesn't have it in him, which is a hell of a pity.

Taylor saddens me. Imagine if you could transplant Gordys brain into Taylor's body. Nothing would be able to stop him. The bloke has so much talent but I don't think he has the drive to match it.

I recall reading once that Bennett told McGuire at Souths that Taylor would do his head in!

However, if you stick Locky's brain and Gordie's heart in Taylor's body, with his size and ball skills...

I disagree. In my opinion, Henjak is the only coach who has gotten the best out of Taylor. At the back end of 2009 he was unstoppable. Besides, Bennett did coach Taylor - admittedly it wasn't for very long so maybe Bennett could have straightened him out given time.

I agree with this point. I see it with a lot of players actually. They coast by on their talent and potential. They know deep down that they'll find a club somewhere. If the Titans let go of Taylor today - he'd have a new club tomorrow. Players like that know the idea of them playing their best is just as good as the reality of them playing their best consistently - which hardly ever happens.

That we do agree on.
