To answer your question Mr fourex if I got board. Would you ever get board of the broncos? I don't know about you but I definitely wouldn't and if my plans didn't work I would totally step away and only work on the running of the club.
Or chairman of the board...
It doesn't necessarily mean bronco bob isn't a multi-millionaire though.
The Broncos are already the most successfully run club of the modern era........what are you going to improve on?
Bronco Bob can I make a suggestion? Instead of outlaying a butt tonne of cash to buy the team and possibly have not much effect on premiership winning ability, why not make a shrewder and much less priced investment that would go a long way to helping the team. Become a third party sponsor and throw coin at Thurston. Broncos can pay his market value base salary of $600k and you can guarantee his signature with an $800k 3rd party deal. Use him for some promo work for yourself as an awesome tax write off and ****ing wa la....every bodies happy.
Interesting stuff, Bob.
My suggestion is to write to some owners of NFL teams and see if you can visit the team and see how they are run and then use that to give you ideas on how you would come up with a business proposal. As I'm sure they wouldn't sell you the majority of shares based on just money.

I understand were you are coming from but I disagree. It's not like hook has the best credentials, he never played first grade football. I played league up until the age of 16. I represented Queensland schoolboys 4 years in a row so I do have some experience.
The Broncs have been to the states for this.
I think it's good Bob from the angle of giving members and fans a bit more say and more hands on / get more feedback from the club but the club as a business is quite succesful as it is, though i don't knock you for wanting to take that sucees further and higher and i, as a fan, would welcome it with open arms in regards to better facilities etc for the players. But again, as a fan, football decisions i hope would be left soley to the coaching and support staff. good luck mate.
Wayne Bennett never played first grade (NSWRL) either, although did represent Queensland 7 times. Griffin played 3 years in first grade in Brisbane.
IMO, playing ability has little to do with coaching ability. Wally Lewis. End of argument.
I honestly think if the first thing you did was to sack Griffin and get Lockyer as coach you'd be doing more harm than good. Lockyer has ZERO coaching experience.
I don't believe the coaching team is where the problems, if any, in the club exist. As others have highlighted, it's more in the recruitment and retention side of things. The Broncos used to be the first to get their hooks into young kids with something special. Since the late, great Cyril Connell left the scene, that's fallen away.
Combine that with the Broncos' inability to attract star players to fill holes in the playing roster and we have the current situation where we have some strong players in some positions, and major weaknesses in others, meaning the club is not a real threat at a title. I can't recall a Broncos team with a worse combination of fullback, hooker, halfback and five-eighth. Ever. The closest is 2003 (1. Lockyer, 6. Ikin, 7. Berrigan, 9. Swain), but when you have Lockyer at fullback you're going to be better than half the teams in the competition even with absolute nuffies in the other positions. That Andrew McCullough is our best player in the spine is a major concern.
That the Broncos are (visibly) not even trying to get Thurston, or Johnson, or Barba, or any of the other quality halves/fullbacks that are out there boggles my mind.
Just bear in mind that consultation with fans is good, but letting them make decisions is bad. Idiots running the asylum.
See that's the kind of thing that scares me. What Parramatta did to its players last year was disgusting. As bad as they were, to stand them up there to be attacked by understandably angry fans was humiliating. It's the kind of thing that sends players packing - and keeps quality players away.
Do you think Johnathon Thurston would sign on for the Broncos if he might end up on a stage fielding questions from angry fans about why they're not winning?
I admire your passion, but I think some of your ideas are naive and misguided. And so it concerns me if you seriously do want to take ownership of the club and have that attitude. I think you'll damage the club if you do.
