Cocaine Scandal

Hell of a lot of media outside a player's house this morning in Brisbane.

Chris Garry mentions on Twitter that his mail is no former Broncos player will be charged. I hope it's true.

I'm on my phone so I can't post it.

This is in response to a question about the SMH article

This article is a load of shit, the journo even admits there is no evidence or suggestion just proximity and a former player. Roy Masters seems to have a fair bit of respect in the RL journo circle but this is absolute garbage

I know its like saying the police will investigate me for a criminal offence because i happen to live in the same suburb as a guy they recently charged.

MMMM - generally where there is smoke there is fire - I do recall seeing video/pics of a certain current Broncos player sitting next to K Hunt at Suns games etc as they are pretty good mates - wont name names but he is a top line player

also do we know which players house the media was outside of this morning - any news on that front at all

Todd Balym says "Before everyone freaks out about their team or player X involved in cocaine scandal, remember 95% rumours wrong at moment"

I heard a rumour that Greg Bird is a dick head. I'm guessing that is in the 5%?

Can the club sue the SMH if this article turns out to be utter bs? This is straight up defamation if there's nothing to it.

This is my question?

I mean if I wrote an article that said Roy masters was next to be charged for cocaine possession based on his location and access to nrl players, I could quite rightly be sued for defamation. Why should the fact that he has managed to stay employed as a journo change anything?

Haven't they only said the investigation is now on us, not that we've been charged or accused of anything?

My take - the CCC nab a few players, then sat back and watched the mobile phone chatter go nuts, then formed a link.

That's how I'd roll. Also offer deals to drop some names
