CONFIRMED - Adam Blair to Broncos

It doesn't affect me at all

In your last 2 posts directed at me you've said that it's affecting your view on the signings.

In this instance where you're tearing others down with pretty general negative criticisms isn't really doing anybody any favours. If anything, it just leaves me thinking that we've probably compounded the problem if our forwards are THAT bad - which I don't think they are.

I really don't like it when people shit on our current crop to justify the 'new signings'. It puts me off-side right away.

I can't see this being any different than the Joel Clinton signing.

Or Ashton Sims. Although, Sims actually did good at one stage there. He was one of the reasons why we dominated the Dragons forward pack in the 09 semi.

Not at all.

This has gone further than it has to. I was just pointing out that when people resort to over-exaggerations to get their points across it kills the credibility of the argument.

In saying all that, I'd much rather see Blair at prop than Parker.

I disagree. There is no comparison between Clinton. Blair's just in a different class to Clinton and he'll be better than what Sims was during his Broncos days. Sims only started hitting his straps recently in my opinion, but its a shame he went to England.

Blair's work at the Tigers has mostly gone unnoticed this year. He's actually been pretty good without being outstanding. He's been good in defence and he's made decent running metres from his hitups. He makes about 9-10m per run, but the only thing is he needs to get more involved. For whatever reason in a few games he's had less than 10 runs. Likewise in others, he's had more than 15.

Hopefully at the Broncos he can get more ball and constantly pump out a minimum of about 15 runs per game and then he'd be a very good addition to our team.

I went looking for a Adam Blair highlight video on Youtube, this is the best I could find.

Just read an article with quotes from Braith Anasta saying the tigers owe him money and that they released Blair due to salary cap pressure so maybe they in fact were asking around if anyone wanted him

Just watched a video about Blair, he stopped drinking this year. His girlfriend was a Broncos cheer leader come bodybuilder (hot) and is I good influence on him. I believe he may have the best year of his life for us. He may be a dud or may not. I think he is worth the gamble. I must say I was neither happy or angered by the signing.

Wife now apparently, she seems pumped that he has signed with us too, apparently they met at Suncorp Stadium.

FWIW I think he will have a great year next year and will be a great signing

What's ironic is that Adam Blair is basically Ben Barba. Has all these familial ties which are going to make him awesome just like Barba. Used to be a good player but has been shit of late just like Barba.

Except in Barba's case they were good reasons for him to go but for Blair they are great reasons to sign him. Really odd IMO.

the blair signing to me is some what baffling and to be honest a little short sighted. no doubt the club needed to beef up the front row but paying this guy $550k a year is simply outrageous, especially when hanannt was still available at a cost of around $400. He has been ineffective at the tigers during a time where he really could have made an impact as a senior leader. His bio says he is 110 kilos, but he lacks real punch and conviction through the middle, not to mention he is a walking dropped ball and penalty giver. I think he is another over inflated storm expat and i reckon kearney has a lot to do with this.Anyway the real issue now comes with the re signing of moose and the other junior big men coming through, i can see real issues in retaining the future of the club now that bennett has gone this way. all we need now is david fa'alogo and some other over rwted pensioners to arrive and it will be the knights mach 2.

This is the first mention of a figure. I know the Tigers paid him $500k-odd, where have you heard that he's getting that money here?

If we are paying Blair 550k a year, then it is the stupidest decision the club has ever made.

Shit ... we should have made the Tigers fork out something
