absolutely .. They really have become the leagues that time forgot .. I have to remind myself sometimes that the teams running around in the Q Cup do actually represent a town or a suburb rather than just being a dumping ground for an NRL club. Given the way it's discussed in the media, it's easy to perceive that comp as merely the place where players who didn't make the 17 for their NRL team that weekend run around.

But all of these clubs have a huge amount of history and tradition and it'd be great if the Q Cup (and the NSW Cup) recieved a bit of long overdue marketing that really highlighted the fact that it is a competition that has a soul and attempted to get people excited about following the comp.
 
At least the QRL get behind the Queensland Cup.

NSWRL bully clubs to be apart of their comp. and then do jack s**t to advertise it.
 
Nope. I hate the idea of relegation. You run the risk of having the game's superstars playing reserve grade. Nobody would ever sign for the lesser teams in first grade, because they wouldn't want to risk being relegated.
 
If the money was right, players wouldn't give a rats where they played, as long as they got their pay cheque.

Well those stars would probably be released anyway, because the club wouldn't be able to keep them with only half of the salary cap available to them...
 
Lockyer retired one year too early, and with his guidence, the broncos would have been sure things for the premiership next year, however they will struggle without his on-field precence next year and finish in 9th position.

Unless they drop a bunch of their mid-range players and desperately cling on to Thurston in an effort to get promoted again.
 
He will make it but I am certain he us overrated at this point..

As far as the Broncos concerened this is true. As far as Lockyer is concerned, he's gone out at an awesome time. Kicking the winning field goal in extra time with a broken face against the dragons! Yeah!
 
Shane Webcke is the most overrated player to ever pull on Broncos jersey
