Rugby League is a great game but it shouldn't be afraid of changes. For me, the game's biggest problem is that sides want to slow it down for their own benefits. For me, we shouldn't give them that option which is why...

- Get rid of dominant tackles and surrender tackles. If you have the ball and you can get up then you have the right of way and if the defence takes longer than necessary to remove themselves then they should get penalised.

- Speaking of penalties, unless there was spear tackle or a head high, you cannot kick for touch. The result is two fold, it speeds the game up as the action returns basically instantly through a quick tap and that it will benefit refs. who struggle at the best of times. Penalty goals are still on offer.

- Scrap golden point, for good. It was just invented to cure the whining south of the border when really, they had no right to. There's nothing wrong with draws in either Season games or Origin games and the only time Extra Time should come into the play is during the finals. Sudden death is only activated when teams can't be split after 10 extra consecutive minutes.

- Benefit of the doubt to the defensive side. We're seeing way too many wonky tries awarded on the back of benefit of the doubt and all it does is frustrates fans and the media alike. By giving the defensive side the BotD we get rid of this problem and IMO it's a far more consistent approach than the other way round.

i strongly agree with this. i dont know how they ever came to the conclusion that BotD should go to the attacking team. if unsure it SHOULDN'T be a try, imo.

if all the refs did (aka were allowed to) apply a bit more common sense across the board, then the game would be a lot better off for it.

well i think part of the problem is they are too drilled into trying to play everything by the technical definition and forgetting common sense. goes for video ref too.
