Parramatta coach Daniel Anderson is facing the sack within 48 hours after losing the support of the club's $3 million major sponsor and Eels board members.

Eels chairman Roy Spagnolo is expected to fast track a board meeting originally set down for Tuesday to decide Anderson's future after a Saturday of high drama.

It was revealed Anderson had been offered the opportunity on Friday to resign to save himself from the embarrassment of being sacked.

I think their new board are tyrants.

Wonder what the players think of this.

It will be Stephen Kearney

who would want to be the Eels coach... he took them to the GF in his first season, in his second season missed the finals in his second and gets sacked. he had to deal with Hayne whinging when told the truth about his performances because Hayne thinks he is so good he doesn't need to listen to the coach

Another reason why Parra don't cut it...

I would take Anderson up here over Henjak in a heartbeat!

But then we would be no different to Parra, sacking Henkak after 2 seasons, one of which he took the team to within one game of the grandfinal. Plus Anderson had a far better roster and run with injuries then Ivan had to deal with.

not sure Parra had a better roster than us TBH.

You think so Beads?? Moi Moi (enough said) Justin Poore, State of Origin Prop, Cayless International Prop, Mannah, State of Origin Prop, Hindmarsh, State of Origin Second Rower, Shane Shackleton, Ben Smith, Feleit Mateo, Horo came on in leaps and bounds. Objectively you would say that is a better pack than ours (although they did not perform up to it).

Hooker - Keating v. McCullough - close to cancelling each other out

Burt for consistency and his goal kicking would have to be rated ahead of any our three wingers from this year. Eric Grothe (myth, but former State of Origin player), does he rate above Winterstein or Yow Yeh (at this stage of their careers)???
Inu - as above for Grothe

Hayne v. Hoffman - you would have to give the points to Hayne
Timana Tahu, International and State of Origin player probably cancels out Folau
Joel Reddy - consistent reliable centre v Gillett/Teo/Glenn - probably shade in favour of Parra

Mortimer v. Wallace - both patchy this year, probably cancel each other out.

5/8 Mateo/Kris Keating/Robson v. Lockyer - clear win to the Broncos.

So, yes I would say that they had a better roster this year. We have a lot of young players that are going to be very good players, but for this year, I would say that Parra had a better roster.

No way on the galaxy if this sucks camel dick did Parra have a better Roster than the Broncos this season. You are over-rating the Parra team severely

We will just have to agree to disagree icon_thumbs_u

Nah, that happens too much on here. Beads has the right to his opinion, and I am not going to change it, so why bother [icon_drun

Who'd be a bloody coach - seriously?

Didn't Anderson win the Dally M Coach of the Year last year? Same year Hayne won the Dally M Player of they Year? So why is it all Ando's fault they missed the 8 this year? Clearly Hayne didn't perform well enough to get the team there again Both Ando and Hayne fell from the same heights over this season - why doesn't Hayne get the arse?

* Disclaimer - I know that it is always the coach who gets the blame when things go bad, but that's the point. Most of our really good coaches get treated like crap while average players just get up-graded contracts. No wonder there's so many young and inexperienced coaches these days and that the standard of the game is dropping.
