The only player worth 1.2 mil in the nrl currently is cam smith. You could mount an argument for teddy but I don’t think he’d have the same impact in a shit club. Dce, Moses, Keary, and Cleary are all on less than what the titans are offering Fifita and they’re currently the best halves in the game.

This is a line in the sand moment for our club’s culture moving forward. If what Garry is reporting is true, we need to take our offer off the table and say best wishes to Fifita. We need to stop bending over for mercenary players.

That would be dangerous and unfair to the player. I think a better option would be if the NRL allowed an incumbent team to offer a certain percentage more than other teams that wouldn't count towards the cap. This will encourage player development and investment amongst other things.

This is why the nrl needs to cap contracts to players who are under a certain age, it's a joke. $700k for a backrower who hasn't played any rep footy is ridiculous , but some desperate club throws him stupid money and that's market value.

So why did Latrell leave? I irc it was because the Roosters would not pay him what he was asking.
Benny Hunt is having huge mental issues due to the weight of expectations and the cash he is on. He's currently coming off the bench as a hooker at the Dragons because his form is shot. I would'nt say he is made for life. The same thing happened to Ash Taylor when he moved. And Bateman is moving back to the UK but would have stayed if his manager had not chased the Aussie dollar.

What do the Fifita’s expect will happen at the titans? I mean yeah we are having a shit year, but realistically this is the shitest year in the entire history of the broncos. This is a normal year for the titans.
Its a massive decision to make, no doubt.
I will have the highest respect for Dave if he turns the titan down. $1.1mill for 12 months is astronomical, finals or no finals.
But even with he and Tino at the club, they won’t be making the 8 for a while. Not until they sort players out in key areas, ie their spine.
