The only scenario I'd be willing to go with JD is if it means retaining the young players which may have otherwise left after 2019 (TPJ, Oates, Lodge, etc)

Goddam I believe in this guy. He's pretty much got the best non-NRL head coach record you can ask for and has the blessing of Bennett. JD is the fucking man for 2020. He knows the club, he knows our players.

If he's not a head coach at any NRL club in the next couple of years then that's a travesty.

Henjak had the blessing of Bennett, so did hook and Steve Price

Well that may discredit the Bennett's blessing, but JD's coaching record is nothing short of impressive. If he's not head coach of Brisbane, he will be coaching else where in the NRL in the next couple of years.

He knows how to drive, we just need to give him the keys.

This is something I don't get. How is his coaching record nothing short of impressive? He's coached 2 years of QLD Cup, thats it.

Walters has a good record in the lower grades (including premierships) ... so does hook.

Henjak like JD was an assistant in a premiership winning side ... actually so was Kearney

Madge's record on the other hand far surpasses the record of any of the other reported candidates. in fact he has done what none of the others have and has won 2 top grade premierships (1 in the NRL and 1 in the ESL).

he also turned the perennial under-achievers in the NRL into one of the powerhouses

Walters with his impressive Super League head coaching record, and forgetting to use all his subs in Origin.

Madge barely breaking 50% win rate in the NRL and getting sacked.

Well at least you know what you're getting with those two. Medicority.

We forgetting Madge is the coach of the New Zealand side that just beat Australia?

Michael Maguire has a career coaching record of 62% (76% in the ESL with 1 premiership and 56% in the NRL with 1 premiership) there are very few coaches with that record

His international win % is now the same as his NRL win %. Oh yeah he's already been SACKED from an NRL club, and word is players are much happier playing under Siebold.

his NRL winning record is 56% I'm pretty sure only Bennett and Bellamy have a better winning record

When 56% is considered a good win %, it almost makes you wonder how important a coach even is, and how much may come
down to another variable such as TPA’s or board stability.

there are only 2 coaches (who have coached longer than a season) that have win percentages that are in the sixties Bennett (62%) and Bellamy (68%)

Imagine if JD is a coach we let go (and we appoint the likes of Walters and have no further success,) whilst JD goes to a club like Manly or the Tigers and has great success..

The media will love it. It'll be Bellamy 2.0

Come on souths had a team that was always going to win or come close when he took over , not to mention the leg up from the nrl.

There’s a big difference between driving a Ford Laser and a Ferrari 488.

You mean the new zealand team that so often gets wins over us 3 natins , world cup.....
You seriously can't take that into consideration after the turn over and outs australia had .
