Drop milford

I think Oates might be back on the wing in the next few weeks.
At the expense of who though? If Mead is dropped he should feel pretty hard done by. Unless he moves to fullback to give Isaako time in Q Cup.

There is seriously short to nothing available on the market for the next two seasons in halves.

Dufty at Dragons would be who i sign for next season on a 3yr term. We would have to get in now with him though. We have no chance of Paps or Smith.
Drinkwater, A Reynolds, SJ, Kurt Mann, Matt Moylon, Corey Normon, Connor Watson, Benji, Lachlan Lewis, Ash Taylor, Sam Walker, Tanah Boyd are all off contract.

Superleague could probably also provide us with:
Aiden Sezer, Gareth Widdop, Jackson Hastings, John Lomax, Blake Austin

There’s definitely options. Personally I’d re-sign Dearden and partner him with one of the following roughly in order:

Reynolds
Johnson
Taylor
Drinkwater (preferred at fb)
Hastings
Walker
Marshal
———- (beyond this your basically consider keeping Croft)
Sezer
Widdop
Lomax

Fullback is pretty much barren with only really:
Dufty
Hynes
Drinkwater

That’s all you would even consider, which makes the Walsh thing all the more painful.

If you wait until the end of 2022 you could target:

Joey Manu
Paps
Suaali
Hammer
Gutho

It would be Mead. First, because if Oates wants the wing he has the pedigree. Second, even though Oates' defence has been appalling, his numbers are better than Mead's so far this season. Third, he put on a good show on the weekend, what Kevvie wanted to see. Fourth, the official reason given for him being dropped is he's coming back from injury.

If he wants to come back into the forwards, not sure that's going to happen.

Check them out. Look at how many tackles Mead missed.

What am i looking at?

Every week I see Benji putting in and is probably on minimum - yet we have this goose on top dollar putting in that drivel.

Benji calls out players not putting in around him, he actually leads and can play. How did we not throw a heap of cash to get him back into this squad? Totally understand he wanted to stay in sydney, but a year or two on 3-400k he probably would have gone for.

Even if it's just to throw shade at how poorly some people train. Sounds like they areally need someone to give these players a brutal reality check, their shit actually does stink.
The time to grab Benji was a couple years back when he was here. I believe he wanted to stay...but the club wouldn't offer him a deal. He would have been good as a back up and good for leading/mentoring young players like Milford.

Should have made him captain

Bennett barely used him even though our spine was misfiring badly. It really pissed me off at the time.

Got to admit....Benji surprised me with his willingness to seemingly want to do the hard yards.

Their respective defence stats. Oates last season. Mead this season (two games).
Mead in 2 games already being 1 try and 2 line breaks away from matching Oates’ entire seasons efforts last year? Mead averaging more metres than Oates did last year?

I’m not arguing, I’m actually unsure what you’re trying to say.

He wanted to go back to the Tigers and there was even talk of him leaving mid season, but he wanted to finish the right way at Brisbane.

It's possible a good offer might have kept him though.

Unless your name is Benji Marshall. He called out Milford publicly last time and also called out Cook this year for shit passes.

That's the kind of honesty we need
Did he though? I thought he denied saying any such thing after Kent made the claim on Fox. I remember Bennett made a big show about what a liar Kent was at the time.

He denied telling Kent, which was true, he told Ikin who told Kent. I have often wondered whether that was revealed to Ikin confidentially and he breached it by telling Kent.

Kent and Ikin don’t have half a brain cell even when combined so I wouldn’t believe anything they say on an old man’s “premium” (hopelessly outdated and abhorrently expensive) cable tv show.
