this is good news for our chances i think

The veteran admitted on Thursday he was guilty of trying too hard to spark the side in their last round 22-12 loss to the Storm in Melbourne and he planned to reassess his approach ahead of the sudden-death clash in Townsville.
Hodges agreed he overplayed his hand as Brisbane were made to pay for missed chances in Melbourne before sweating on other results to scrape into eighth spot.
“Definitely. I tried to do too much I guess,” Hodges said.
“And it’s something that I spoke to the coach about.
“It’s getting used to the fullback role again, and what it allows me to do.

Good to hear he's realised the errors of his ways ..... i just hope he can control his natural instincts and not try and take over again if we fall behind.

All we need is for everyone to do their job .... together, as a team, and i think we'll go ok.

Moga is great in attack, but is arguably the worst defensive centre in the NRL. Worse than Gagai even.

How about Kahu defending at fullback and attacking at right centre? IIRC he's played a lot of fullback in the lower grades and probably wouldn't be worse than Hodgo.

I'm honestly not a fan of all this having someone attacking somewhere and defending somewhere else.. not this late in the season.

1. Hodges
2. Vidot
3. Kahu
4. Copley
5. Maranta

That should be our back 5, and they should all defend where they attack.

Might as well just not show up then. If we want to win, we can't go in with a huge achilles heel like Hodges defending at fullback.

I'm inclined to agree.

Kahu is a big boy, surely he can hold his own.

I seriously doubt Hodges could play that badly again.

I fully expect to see him play the house down this weekend.

I am sure he will jarro, but I just can't see him being agile enough to defend at the back where my guess is Thurston will quite deliberately grubber often behind the line, away from Hodges 'cos he knows Hodges is not exactly agile and can neither turn nor stop on a dime.

I would be seriously worried with Hodges' defence alone at the back. You need someone with real speed and agility there these days.

Great to see Hodgo admit he did too much, that's a good lesson to young guys as they learn to reflect on their game. On Kahu, I would much prefer Oates at centre as the more time he is on the field the better. Plus, Kahu has been playing on the wing for Wynnum, not centre.

I understand where you're coming from mate .... that performance against the Storm really highlighted some flaws in his game at the back.

Hopefully he can somehow jump back into a time machine and regain the form he showed in '06 when he tore them all to pieces when thrown back to fullback.

Wouldn't it be nice :takdir:

anyone else go down to training? i went down for a look, though had to head back to the office just before 10.

kahu's definitely playing left centre but i guess we all know that now.

actually quite impressed with kennedys effort at training seems like hes pumped up

Just win FFS !!!!!!!

We owe the Cowboys a loss in front of their home fans for once (in finals)
