EURO 2008

Croatia beat Austria 1-0.

Germany leading Poland 1-0 after 24 minutes.

Had money on both Croatia and the Germs to win to nil = very good result for me! My account is loving the Euro's _woohoo_

Wow. The Dutch have just totally blown Italy away. The first goal shouldn't have been a goal but still, they have been very impressive.

Great counter attacking football, Wesley Sneijder and RVN, well done.

How different do you think the game would have been had their first goal not have stood?

I think Italy would have still been beaten comfortably, their defence is a shadow of what it used to be, and i think the goal stood rightly anyway.

You thought Ruud was on? I saw several replays that I thought showed him to be a fair way off. I agree, Italy's defence looks pretty ordinary without Cannavarro. Having said that, the Dutch defence is even worse with both Oijer and Bhoularouz out there. Italy created several clear chances and could have scored 2 or 3 themselves.

Personally I think it is much tighter if that first goal is ruled out. Most of Holland's chances came from swift counter attacks after the first goal. It may not have been so easy if Italy had not conceded.

Buffon pushed his player off the field as the ball is played, if he didnt push the defender off, Ruud was onside by miles IMO.

By the laws of the game he was onside.

Article 11.4.1. of the refereeing code states "an opposing player cannot be offside when one of the last two defenders has left the field of play" - as in the case of Panucci.

Cheers. Didn't pick it up at the time.

Won on Spain and a draw at half time in the Greece/Swede match and then money on the first goal coming after the 27th minute. icon_thumbs_u

Wow Spain are looking the goods early on. I'd love to see them take it out.

Great result for the Croats beating the Germans 2-1! icon_thumbs_u

I know I could not believe this result after watching their awful display against Austria. They were terrible in that match. That is one good win though, the Germans are very tough.

So at this point in time the Netherlands and Spain are looking like the big contenders of the tournament. I hope Puyol isn't out for long for Spain's sake. And I'm pretty shocked by Holland to be honest, I thought they would do bugger all [icon_lol1.

Anybody fancy a big bet on Romania to beat the Netherlands?
The Netherlands cannot be caught they will probably rest a few players and if Romania win it will mean France and Italy are eliminated which is again beneficial to the Netherlands.

Don't try it - from what I saw briefly yesterday, Romania are clear favourites with Holland paying around $3.50 for the win.
