I'm honestly baffled. How can they backdate a ban when nothing has been served? How did the governing body get together and actually walk out thinking they've reached a fair and logical decision? This entire thing is a huge fucking joke.

It's disappointing that someone cannot hold a contrary position without copping abuse. I never thought the events at Cronulla were such a big deal and nothing the players have done has changed my opinion of them. Irrespective of which club it was I would feel the same. Whatever they took it appears to be only as a recovery device and not to gain an advantage although speedier recovery could well be argued to be an advantage. I won't be apologising for not going in anger spasms as some seem to on here. I would feel some anger though if I thought Cronulla had a programme like the East Germans or the Chinese and were building gorillas with steroids etc in order to cheat the system.
I'm looking forward to Saturday night and next season too and really don't care about ASADA , WADA or the NRL and their responses.
Just on Gallen, although I dislike him when he plays Origin I still think he is in the elite of rugby league players and don't attribute a single percentage point to any involvement he may have had with drugs as a reason for his ability to play the game. If this point of view upsets you I can understand that and I'm sorry you are upset but not sorry for believing as I believe.

Let's discuss this a little further, I'm going to go ahead and agree with you about the "crime" not being a major issue for the sake of a good discussion. In fact my main issue is that a ban can be back dated as time served when there has been no time served. I would've been happier if they just said we're suspending all involved for a month. How do you feel about this backdating of a suspension that hasn't actually been served? I don't think any legal system in the world works that way.

I tend to agree actually. I think that ASADA and the NRL have handled this clumsily and in fact it looks like that they had skinny evidence although they had some. It appears as though they are looking for a win,win,win...firstly for themselves, secondly for the players themselves and lastly for the NRL . In a few months it will just be ancient history and I believe ASADA want that to be the case yesterday. They hardly have covered themselves in glory, in fact they look inept.yes, very poor and backdating is/was a joke.

Well, getting upset is not going to make things change. Time to get over it and with regards to Gallen, he was drug tested after Origin every year just like the Queenslanders, if there were people on drugs we can safely assume they would have been caught. All the samples taken can be tested again and again. It really isn't going to make a difference. Time to look to the future.

Give yourself some time to get over it. Rugby league is simply the best full contact sport and the good in the game far outweighs the bad. Just picture the crowds ,the players the commentators during the Rise for Alex round to remind yourself just how much you'd miss if you walked away.

Personally I'm the other way. I can better tolerate someone who knows Andrew Johns had a drugs issue but trolls about it, rather than interact with someone who is so biased he genuinely believes that it never happened and was only ever a media beat up.
