(Ex-) Cronulla players admitted drug cheats!

So I just read the article on ban and reading over the blog comments, Rothfield said he is one of the judges for the immortal status. What the absolute ****.

It doesn't surprise me. Despite being a senile, deluded old fucker, he has serious pull in the game. The kind of influence that was supposed to be rubbed out when the Independent Commission was born. Dirty secrets spanning probably 50 years will do that.

I was the one that brought that up. Our "conversation" went like this:

Me: Surely this means Gallen can never be an immortal now.

Buzz: Joey did recreational drugs and he is an immortal.

Me: Recreational drugs are different to performance enhancing drugs.

Buzz: True

Me: Its worrying that you are a judge of the immortals, yet you couldnt see the difference between recreational and performance enhancing without me pointing it out to you.. dont u think?

Buzz: I hate all drugs mate. Of course I know the difference.

I wonder if performance enhancing drugs will become more common now.

You only miss a few games for using them, so why the **** not?

The Buzz chat in foxsports is making me sick. How the **** was gallen even considered good enough to be an immortal before he became an admitted drug cheat? I hope everytime he touches the ball in Brisbane, whether it be against the Broncos/ Origin, the crowd yells "cheat" (like the beast in the Saffa rugby team).

The NRL is a joke. From top to bottom, it's a joke.

These types of comments used to bother me (not looking at you Nashy, just an example) but now they don't, because it really is true

I love rugby league, but the NRL is a total joke

It's a fucking shame that the Super League fell apart, and the game probably died with it in the long run. You just can't have so many fucking Sydney teams or blatant favouritism like in the NRL. I'll never, ever support AFL, but at least they have some sort of clue heading into the future.

Looking at fuckwit (Rothfield) replying to comments about the suspension... **** me, this guy is a fucking douchebag of the highest order.

Through all the early reports of 6month bans and backdated punishments, I was always comforted by the knowledge that WADA would be watching and overrule any bullshit sentences. Appears I was wrong. An 18mth investigation to hand out punishments of 3 games. I wonder how much this all cost? Was it worth it? The Darkest Day in Australian Sport my left nut.

And I find it absolutely fucking disgusting that Paul Gallen and Jeremy Smith will be available for games in the 4 Nations.

that day is today.

Phil Rothfield: "As far as Gallen is concerned, it will be good for him. He needs a rest. He'll come back the freshest he's been for years."

paging Dexter Morgan...

Yeah don't worry Phil, he doesn't play for the Sharks anyway.

Could you imagine what would have happened if we were caught up in this scandal ... our players would have easily been given the 2 years.

this suspension tells me the the NRL actually condone the use of performance enhancing drugs.

It's not the NRL fault the bans are so low.

The NRL can't put their on bans on the players as it's ASADA baby.

Hmmm.....is it really like that?

I was under the impression that ASADA gives it's rulings and then makes recommendations to the sport's governing body.

The NRL is free to impose harsh or lenient judgements as it sees fit.
