WTF?! Just read that if they take the 1 year ban, they'll only miss 10 weeks because of "backdating"...how is the ban backdated when they've been playing? Gallen would be eligible to play in the 4 nations in November.

No player will take up the offer, as it will mean they admit guilt. The players will drag it out in the courts.

WADA may say the bans are insufficient & hand down their own punishment.

The mandatory sentence for this sort of thing is 2 yrs correct? If they want to be lenient and strike a deal with players, the only deal I could stomach would be 2 yrs backdated from November last year (or whatever the date is they're throwing around). They would in effect miss the remainder of this season and all of next season. This 1yr backdated crap is bullshit imo.

And yet these guys will only miss a few games...

It would be bullshit if they only got a ban of a few weeks but I think the difference is that O'Davis willingly took these drugs whilst these guys at Cronulla were unaware what they were.

I think the minimum ban is 6 months, If I was in charge of this investigation and could decide the penalty I would give the minimum ban as they were unaware whilst O'Davis and other cases were aware.
