Back on topic.

Fact.
The two best ex Broncos wingers will be playin finals footy this year.
Reece Robinson and Steve michaels.
And not too far behind them Lote Tuqiri will also be playing finals.

Fact. Ben Hunt has slowly found his feet in first grade.

Load of cobblers IMO

Compare this season to his previous efforts.
Though his passes are still iffy, floats like Bucking Beads' turds.

Didn't watch the game last night or any that hunt has played in?? He does need to take the ball to the line a bit more when he is running out wide instead of just passing it to the centre as soon as he gets it though. Good kicking game though.

I'm interested in these facts:

We should have reached the finals and we didn't.

The reason we didn't reach the finals must be determined and remedied.

Macca is the goods.

Tronc needs to lose 10 kgs.

Gillett has shown he must be the full time 2011 lock.

Hunt has at last shown he can be as good as Wallace.

Macca has always been the goods. Ones he learns to maintain his intensity and his body matures he will be a very good player.

i have to once again disagree with you here. Parker needs to stay at lock or our team will be a lot worse off. he does at lot of work that doesn't get noticed by the average league fan and as such is a very important part of our pack and our team

I am not saying Parker shouldn't be in the starting 13 as I acknowledge that's futile. He will be.

What I am saying, and always have said, is that he ain't no lock.

Sure, one could argue that there is no longer any role for a specialist lock. I disagree.

I may be old fashioned, but my view of a lock is that they are different from the classic back rower.

They should be key cover defenders, ball runners, ball players, hopefully have a good kick, and hopefully act as a 2nd 5/8.

That means a team gets a potent attacking (and defending) weapon in the middle.

Parker is NONE of those. His place is 2nd row with Sammy. T'eo on the bech for impact as I have always suggested.

He is a workhorse who too often runs stupid angles into the middle of the ruck, has little footwork, can't kick, and is certainly no ball player.

Gillett fits the bill. As I said before, he has the potential to be the next Brad Clyde. Give him the chance to prove himself IN ONE POSITION - HIS SPECIALITY.

Using him as a utility is a waste of talent. We have Glenn and Hunt for utility value.

So long as he's not captain, I'm happy for him to keep his start.

I find it just astounding that people would question Parker's worth to ths team.

I'm not questioning his worth to the team.

I'm questioning where he is best placed to maximise the effectiveness of the team.

It's about the team, not Parker.

Parker should play lock. Frankly he is a lock playing as an edge player and it doesn't suit him. He should play in the middle of the field and tackle and take 'shit' hit ups. He has little line-breaking ability out wide and our back row would look a lot better with Thaiday and Te'o either side of the field and Parker in the middle. The last few weeks Thaiday has been put in the middle and coincidentally his game went downhill. Gillett has impact off the bench and should play him as impact edge player off the bench.. I fail to see the value in Alex Glen as a utility, or a centre for that matter.

The Brad Clyde style lock is more akin to Bird I reckon - ball player who supports and tackles all day. No coincidence the Tits go a lot better with Bird at lock, he has less to worry about can just do his own thing.

I'm not sure it's questioning his worth, just where he plays.

FWIW next year I would have:

1. Hoffman
2. Yow Yeh
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Kemp/Gagai
6. Lockyer
7. Wallce
8. Hannant
9. McCullough
10. Tronc
11. Thaiday
12. Te'o
13. Parker

14. Hunt
15. Gillett
16. Kenny
17. Insert run of the mill prop.

I am pretty sure Locky's ribs will heel OK.
