FC Barcelona thread

I didn't see one dive tbh. Maybe Mascherano who overreacted when he was actually fouled.

The Pedro goal was sensational, mad credit to the run made by pedro and the start of it all by Victor Valdes.

Bring it on Man Utd!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaaannd not surprisingly the most biased supporter I've ever come across can't see his team doing a thing wrong [icon_lol1.

I watched highlights of the first game, I can say confidently the diving was disgraceful in that match.

Yeah, the match in Madrid was really bad, the worst I've seen in a long time. In Barcelona it wasn't as bad, but I'm starting to dislike Barca for it. They DO NOT need to do it ffs! [icon_non

yep, I am admittedly very very biased. However Diving is something I would apologize for. I hate it. If I was the president of FIFA, I would bring in Video technology only to rule on fouls. If a man goes down in the area, call a penalty, but then look at the video. If a player is fouled, then fair penalty. If a player has dived, he is sent off and suspended. Its the biggest cheat thing in the game. Even if Barca dive, I hate it.

I didn't see any dives this morning, however I was in the middle of packing my house, so maybe I missed it.

Busquets, Alves and Pedro are all pretty regularly divers in fact Busquets is one of the worst in the game. Having said that when you spend so much time in possession and your opponents are getting more and more frustrated they tend to make rash challenges. In a way it is Barca's combating of this, because I have this awful feeling Messi will have something very serious happen to him by someone getting the man and not the ball. Not excusing it but in some ways I can see how it happens. Also I thought the Higuain goal was 50-50 I think Ronaldo dove and I think Mascherano made plenty out of the contact Ronaldo made on him so I wouldn't have complained had the goal stood. Main thing is the far superior side advanced.

I agree with what you said, but I don't... [icon_drun

Diving gives me the sh!ts and Portuguese are unfortunately well known for it too. I'm so happy Porto is not resorting to it, despite playing Barca style football.

I hope both teams go on to win and play eachother in the European Supercup, should be a gem of a game!

Please, please, please beat the Mancs.

3 In A Row! _woohoo_ _woohoo_ _woohoo_

Suck sh!t Mourinho!

Campione! Campione! Ole Ole Ole!

So f#cking pumped! Visca Barca. Surprised they didn't rush Puyol back in but he is on the bench if Mascherano is looking shaky at the back, I have a really good feeling and I have a feeling Villa will break the shackles and bag a goal today.

Prediction
Barca 3 - 1 Manure
FGS - Villa
MOTM - Iniesta

Why didn't I have a pick the score bet!

Great performance, complete and utter dominance could have won 6 or 7-1 and even the Manure goal was probably offside. Messi, what more can you say about the guy he is simply a mile ahead of anyone else right now. Great goal and he was menacing throughout including a huge contribution in Villa's goal. Great story to see Puyol hand Abidal the armband to lift the trophy seeing all he has been through this year. I love how Man U looked like a very average side even though they are a top European side, the all consuming possession game was at its best today Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets just bossed the middle of the park today.

3 no make that 4 time champions of europe!!!!

great prediction there!!

watched it at the casino with about 40 man u fans and 5 barca fans lol. boy was it a lot quieter in the 2nd half :P

Not a massive soccer fan but that was clinical, they just starved Man U of the ball. Messi is a freak. The Barca midfield is ridiculously awesome.

Delighted.

Messi is just another level above anyone else in world football.

Congrats guys, it was thoroughly deserved!
Looking forward to the European Supercup. icon_thumbs_u

Yep can't wait for the Super Cup!

I am rewatching the game now on ESPN rather than SBS just so I can hear a second set of commentators spooge over how good this glorious football team is.

BARCELONA, Spain – Street parties in Barcelona celebrating the victory of the city's soccer team in the Champions League final turned violent early Sunday and at least 18 people were hospitalized, according to local media reports.
Police said more than 80 people were arrested after revelers attacked officers with bottles, flares and other objects, and destroyed park benches and bus stops. The scuffles broke out hours after Barcelona beat Manchester United 3-1 at Wembley Stadium in England on Saturday night. About 50,000 people flooded the streets of Barcelona to celebrate.
A police officer was among those hospitalized. AP photographs show plainclothes police officers, who were wearing Barcelona jerseys to blend in with the crowds, making arrests. More than 100 other people were hurt, but they didn't require hospitalization and were treated at the scene by paramedics for cuts and bruises.
An unnamed 17-year-old woman died accidentally when she slipped and fell into a deep hole beside a fountain while celebrating the win in the northwestern town of Santa Comba, local newspaper La Voz de Galicia reported.
Soccer fans had poured shampoo into the fountain to create bubbles, which concealed an uncovered manhole that led to the fountain's pump, the paper said.
The team was expected to arrive in Barcelona with the Champions League trophy Saturday afternoon, with tens of thousands of fans expected to line the streets to celebrate the victory. The festivities will culminate at the 98,000-seat Camp Nou Stadium at around 9 p.m. (1900 GMT, 3 p.m. EDT), the club said in a statement.

There's always a few dickheads out there to ruin the party! [icon_thumbs_do
