PRE-GAME Finals Week 1 - Eels vs Broncos

Making the finals winning just 11 games is an abomination.

Dont know if i would use the word "abomination" but i do feel like scraping into the finals the way we have, feels like receiving a "participation" award.

I will be supporting them, but am not going into it with high expectations.

Just spent an hour watching GF replays including 2015 now that the NRL have released every grand final on their site.

hopefully the Eels take us as lightly as some of our fans are ... if that happens we'll be moving on to week 2 ....

on another note, with Paix being named in the 21, i would swap him with Shibasaki for the token 5-10 mins of game time because it will give him a taste of what the NRL is all about and it will give the coaching staff a small idea of if he is ready to handle the big time.

oh and if there is an injury in the backline we can shift Boyd back there and have a specialist half to play 5/8

I agree, it will at least give him the taste of a big game. He could get some real hunger for finals footy, and some confidence .

You’re bloody mad. If there’s one thing worse than season 2019 it’s the 2015 GF.

Blind pride and love for this team when it doesn't deserve either is odd for mine. I'm not proud of them, they have underachieved all year, most haven't played to a standard worthy of their wage, or an NRL contract. I will back them, but I have no problem calling a spade a spade and saying the named team is dud.

It’s one thing to say they have underachieved commensurate with their experience and another to say to you have no pride. They have made the finals for **** sake, regardless, you are allowed to have a little pride in that bit if nothing else. Give them some slack.

Maybe it's not my place, but a warning was issued in the Post-Eels thread to knock it off. In this instance, I feel goat was baited into it and then got jumped on when he responded. I'm pretty sure there's a dedicated thread people can discuss this, even though I'm not sure what's left to be discussed. Bennett is history, what he would have done is irrelevant. All that's relevant right now is how the Broncos perform under Seibold and 11/24 is a pass conceded.

Team as expected. Can they actually run an effective second man play or will they make it easy for the defence by playing too flat and in each other's pocket? That second man play that Gillett knocked on, woof!

What would his role be? He is struggling I think with that role at Dolphins and looks unsure.

the season % of the next best kicker at the club tells me statistically they don't make as many as Isaako.

Every club who wishes to have any form of sustained success needs a 80%+ kicker in their squad, and that's Isaako. So lets see what happens to him next season...be it on the wing or at fullback...whatever Siebs deems fit for purpose
