Nah. Tons of stupid pricks down South have hated Bennett for 30 odd years, jump on any chance they can to try and run the bloke down just because he's the first coach to have beaten the NSWRL with a qld team. A heap of that shit around the Knights for example, between Tinkler and the new owners and Rick "Great Game" Stone they didn't need Bennett to make them shit. It's just a copout.

Same thing here, we went from a coach who gets the most out of his players to a coach who doesn't have the same track record. He fought tooth and nail to stay here with exactly the same squad he "sabotaged". There are better explanations than some idiot conspiracy theory pushed by southern halfwits and clowns who need a security blanket to clutch.

If bird commits to the broncos and gets healthy I’d consider him for captain. Has the mongrel we need, has all the accolades in rugby league and has that drive to win. Also has its risks due to his injuries.

Every player should have a clause in their contract. If you lose by 50 points or more in a game your contract can be terminated. This player welfare bullshit. If someone fucking doesn't show up for work, or shows up and does fucking nothing they get sacked. Why can't the players?

I actually think with earnings in the game being at an all time high, more accountability needs to be put on them. It comes with the high earning territory.

Also there is a genuine fear that the next TV deal could be less than what it is now. Only way to reverse that prediction is to actually turn up ready to play at your best each week and make the product the best it can possibly be. The players get what they deserve. If they want to turn up once a fortnight, then they can’t whinge when the TV rights dip and they get paid less as a result. Would actually give them a kick up the ass if they took that genuine threat seriosuly

i know some will disagree but id honestly give the captaincy to lodge. sure his form has been down the end half of the year with stupid penalties and mistakes but the guys shows passion and cares about this club.

i honestly think he is the best option for captain and one that would demand respect from this young squad

Whether or not the ego driven TPJ can change remains to be seen. I have doubts. Where would we have been with him in the side but for his ill disciplined ego driven brain explosions? My god he reminds me of Dave Taylor. Sure he can do amazing things but then undoes them all with 5 game sideline stints, unlike Fifita and Haas who are humble and concerned more about the team than their own ego.

As far as Gillett is concerned, he is also victim to a large extent of an altogether shitty right side defensive structure. I'll reserve judgement on him until we end up with a decent pair of halves who know how to use their edge forwards, something we haven't had for a long time.

I was at the game and the one big thing that stood out to me was the massive lack of kick pressure on Moses all Game, every kick he did in the game he had an age to place it..

Also every time they went wide the players in the middle of the line just sat there and didn't back up the wing it's no wonder Parra had a field day.

Mate we've had 30-0, 40-0 drubbings in finals games before and nothing's changed.

In fairness we have had legitimate excuses for the 30-0 and 40-0 finals losses. For starters we had like 11 first graders out against the Storm in the 40-0 loss in 2007 and we still lost by less than we did today!

No way. Lodge is not without criticism of his own this year. He was incredibly lethargic in getting up off tackles in this game, and it really stood out to me before the score really opened up.

He looked genuinely devastated at the end of the game. You can tell that it's more than "just a game", to quote our inspirational captain, to him.
