POST GAME Finals Week One - Eels vs Broncos

To play a second rower in the centers, a fullback at 5/8, a 5/8 at fullback and a dummy half at half back and then throw in spud McCullough you have the spine and backline which will give you that sort of record defeat.

I've not bothered to listen to Seibs' presser, the poor guy is so out of his depth at present. I said at the beginning of the season that he needs to hire some decent assistants. I still stand by that.

But please for feks sake if you only do one thing in the off season you need to demand the board backs you in dropping Boyd, Macca, Gillo and Oates. Tell them all they need to play their way back into the team by showing real heart and commitment to the club.

He needs to take back control of his own squad. I just fear he doesn't have the balls to do it. The teams spine is a reflection of HIS spine.

Seibold’s presser

Uhhh yep, he is scared shitless of stepping on some toes there. I also did NOT like his response to the culture question. **** me it is fucking bad over there at the moment. What a disgrace.

Im not ready to say seibold needs to go. If he drops a bunch of players he can stay, otherwise he does need to go.

This team is brought to us by Bennett. We are fucked for a long time unless a few more can be moved on.
I was all aboard the Seibold train and still think the decision to move Wayne on was the correct one but AS needs to show something very early next year.
If we produce similar confusion in attack and total lack of aggression in D and don't make the obvious player changes then absolutely the club should start looking around.
I'm sure Kevvie would jump at the chance and let's face it he couldn't make things worse.

This is the loss we needed. This will hopefully spur the board and management onto having 'that' conversation with Boyd and McCullough. Even maybe with Milf...
That is the only positive that HAS to come out of that pathetic performance.
The "senior players" ie Boyd, Oates, Milford, Macca all showed their true colours tonight.
Tough convo's have to be coming for the majority of the senior players at this club.
Seibold said in the presser that everything is on the table, everything needs to be looked at and that everyone (the public,) can see our deficiencies. To me, that indicates the likes of Boyd and Macca will be getting a tap on the shoulder.
I hope he isn't trying to talk the talk, because most fans have already given up on him.
He will need major changes to happen in order to see out 2020, no doubts.

the only positive you can take is look at the eels only 12 months ago... we can and have to turn it around next year. but some huge and tough decisions need to be made

That's what I posted yesterday.
They sack their captain, Tim Mannah, mid season and woopty-fucking-do - instant turn around in form. We had a small pleasure of that when Macca got injured.

Take back control? There's never been any evidence he's not picking the current squad, just some rumours that grew out of someone spitballing ideas to find some way there might be a faint shred of hope.

Nah mate, it was HR's decision via Paul White that kept Boyd in this squad beyond Round 5. The club didn't want to compound an already hot period for the club in the media by spectacularly dumping their captain 5 rounds in because he's a busted ass on a 4 year deal.

If Seibold gives Macca and Boyd their marching orders and puts Milford, Isaako, Oates, Gillett and Offa on notice, i will back him 100% next season no questions asked.

If Boyd and Macca are in the side next year, Seibold needs to resign/get fired.

His statements from 4:15 onwards are a direct shot at the senior players in my opinion. He's basically saying the young blokes put in a LOT more than the senior blokes.
Seibold will make the changes required. I expect Oates Macca Boyd Milford and Gillett to be told to look elsewhere. There may be others too. The keep list should be Haas TPJ and Fifita and some of the youngsters coming thru who debuted this season .You can move on contracted players RCG just signed for Parra having only recently signed a long deal with Panthers. So guess nobody safe.

not sure what more seibs could of said you could tell he was being diplomatic and respectful to some of the senior players. but you could tell there are gonna be heads that roll from this.

thought the most telling is when he said at least he has some young kids in the group who will work hard and not make excuses..... sounds to be like a real pot shot at the senior playing group.

and to be honest i think hes right when he says he doesn't owe the fans a apology he is hurting just as much as we are imo.

will be hugely surprised if we dont see some heads roll int he playing group before season starts
