First Test- Australia v Pakistan

Well the Wade experiment was worth a shot, but he's still woeful with the bat and gloves.

Next man up? Maybe Nevill deserves another shot, he's a far better keeper. There's no scenario in which we should be taking Wade to India, that would be a disaster.

Handscomb can keep and can bat

I dunno I brought that up a few weeks ago when we were initially picking the new team and apparently he's more of a shorter form keeper and hasn't got a lot of experience keeping in FC games, let alone Tests.

Either him or back to Neville for keeper if you want to replace Wade.

Harsh on Wade. He missed a stumping. That's all.

What is so pleasing is the miserly performance from our bowlers. Just awesome.
New bats have stood up , with the exception of Maddison. Lastly , the catching from the youngsters , very entertaining and encouraging.

I'd be bringing in Head for Maddinson next test. Reasons being: he's better, has MASSIVE upside, can bowl more than handy spin as a fifth option, is a future leader and might as well get him in to prepare for India.

I'd also bring in Whiteman. Obviously Wade isn't up to it, though I still think he is a better option than Nevill for this team. I just think Whiteman is worth the punt.

Tell you what, if we're looking to make a couple of changes before India (We probably won't, because we're winning), I'm pretty confident I know what I'd be doing. Dropping Maddinson & Wade for Head & Nevill.

Reasoning: Head may only average 35 in FC, but he's shown he can make runs in the lower order in all forms, even for Australia, he's in great form over the last 3 months and his part-time spin would be extremely useful in India, and may even save us from having to play 2 spinners, depending on how he's bowling.. I've just been extremely impressed with him recently, massive potential to be a future Australian captain.

Nevill I've backflipped on, I wanted him gone because he wasn't making consistent runs, but after watching Wade come in and try and slog everything and just get out playing shit shots, and then being a much worse keeper on top of that, just has me severely worried about his performance in India with bat & gloves. At least with Nevill he's got a good technique and a better chance to succeed on those Indian pitches.

Maddinson's last 7 innings - 1, 0, 80, 0, 33, 6, 0.
Wade's last 8 innings - 7, 14, 11, 38, 4, 6, 3, 26.

Edit: What the **** @Sproj :D Great minds think alike I suppose.

But Wade is such a good sledger!

The atmosphere was great last night. When the lights come on the crowd noise rises. I don't get the crowd going on about Nathan Lyon but it was good fun.

Please excuse my ignorance...
Why are we in blue grey?

Man, Handscomb seriously has the goods. You just can't help but think we've found a ten year player in him.

It's time to go: Nic Maddinson

Travis Head please.

Handscomb has a different technique that's for sure and it worries me in England conditions with swing bowling but he deserves this ton, the maturity he is showing is impressive.

I think playing off the back foot would be an advantage in England- he gives himself extra time. Australia has been nicking out so much in England recently because we refuse to play off the back foot.

Head is just like Clarke and Smith. He was South Australia's front line spinner last year but only picked up nine wickets. He bowled himself enough 144 overs from 11 games. He's almost gone past that this year with seven.

I watched him bowl at the 'Gabba few weeks ago; he was bowling well in the second innings the ball that got Heazlett was good bowling.

His batting, last year two very good 100's in fourth innings that's what I liked about it. He gets a lot of starts though and doesn't go on with it. 2012-2016 is a long time to only have four 100's- three last year.

He has the burden of captain but still like to see more 100's.

You can't take Maddinson's second innings and apply pressure for his spot.

He was told he had 10 minutes.
