I swear they just copy paste that list every year and just change the dates.

How is Taylors name mentioned? he is not gonna be a major loss.

Only time will tell if DT is going to be a major loss. His late season form indicates imo that he will be - IF he can play like that in 2010. With a gun pack at the Bunnies I think he can.

Dave Taylor was to Brisbane what Hayne is to the Eels... good for 8weeks waste of space for the rest.

Souths can have him. We will make the 8 with the fowards we have and at least the fowards we have may be willing to put in the hard yards first.

Everyone is so Harsh on Hayne here, seriously.

I could say the same for Lockyer. If he wasn't a "God of football", half this forum would be calling for his head.

was Hayne any good to the eels before his small run?

So he was aboslutely useless before he had one of his best years?

Haha.

Nashy is right, Hayne is underrated on these forums, and it's probably because people hate him. Fair enough i guess.

Don't go thinking Taylor wasn't important to us either. His form during that last month or two of the season was instrumental in our run to the preliminary final.

Hayne has talent, no question. But he has no idea how to apply himself to a big game.

Late last year he was just on a roll and everything he touched turned to gold (except his wiener). But much of that depended on the platform his forwards and halves put together. Mortimer and Kingston (that was the hooker right?) in particular were great.

So I think in general he's overrated based on his golden run last year.

He also has no idea how to play as a fullback - I wouldn't even rank him in the top 5 fullbacks going around today.

[icon_lol1. That is funny. He won a Dally M playing fullback but isn't one of the best 5 fullbacks in the game currently. Name 5 better ones I dare you.

Easy.

1. Slater
2. Stewart
3. Hunt
4. Boyd
5. McKinnon

All are better at the defensive aspects of fullback play, and all are just as good/better support players, or as good with ball in hand (excluding Hayne's golden run to the finals which is what earnt him his dally M).

he is top5 for sure cant deny that. But its pathetic how much Hype he got due to 8good weeks.

Oh I can and I will. Hayne is one of the top 5 most exciting and damaging players when everything is going his and his team's way.

However, week in, week out I wouldn't have him in the top 5 fullbacks in the game.

fullback is a spot that swallows a player. Bowen comes to mind. If your not ripping it up week in and week out you get forgotten about easy.

Dude, week in week out last year he was voted the best player in the comp. No matter how you try and spin it Hayne is obviously one of the best 5 fullbacks in the comp right now otherwise he wouldn't have won the Dally M and his team wouldn't have surged from near the spoon to the 8 and then the GF, a run which he was instrumental in. On last year how anyone could put Mackinnon, Stewart and Hunt particularly ahead of Hayne is just crazy.
