It was classic dummy spit I LOL'D!! icon_thumbs_u

It was quite bizzare considering he hasn't posted in months.

IMO Hayne has been slagged off as "overrated" so much on here it's gotten to the point where he is underrated... if that makes sense.

I hate the bastard but I don't see him as a 'myth' like others do. He has bags of talent and is a brilliant player, even if the media did overhype him last year.

He certainly has all the talent in the world and most of what he did 2009 he could have done from any position not just fullback so maybe Coxy could be right. Just maybe! [icon_drun

I think that tends to happen with anyone who's overrated by media. People feel like they have to go too far in the opposite direction to balance things out. It has happened with Slater too, and also Hunt with a select few people around here.

Not top 5 is crazy talk -

Agree about the consistency + reading of the game but blimey that will come to him as he plays - no doubt about that...

Slater would be my 1 in my current 17. I'd be happy to put Hayne there if Slater couldn't play. He has far too much potential to ignore compared to the other FBs IMO.

PS - the argument about 'what happens when the forwards don't win the battle etc etc' is fair but in a way pointless. We all know how RL works and obviously if the forwards aren't winning the backs will have a harder game... it is simple mathematics.... to rate or not rate a player because of these variables is not really viable IMO.

Channel 9 over rates players = YES (Thurston anyone?)
Although Hayne might be one of them - he is actually a gun player and certainly has the potential to be one of the biggest names of the coming decade.

wonder how Hayne would go at the rabbits or the sharks... Slater as well.

I agree, I'd love to see how the "illustrious" Billy Slater would be going at another club

damn melbourne basterds

And again... these clowns are ridiculous!

Foxsports.com.au and Greg Alexander bring you all you need to know about Brisbane Broncos, Brandy's tip to finish 12th in the 2010 NRL premiership season.

New faces: Denan Kemp (Warriors), Tim Natusch (Newcastle Knights), Rohan Ahern (Sydney Roosters) and Scott Anderson (Melbourne Storm).

Shown the door: David Taylor (South Sydney), Tonie Carroll (Retired), Karmichael Hunt (Gold Coast FC), Aaron Gorrell (Queanbeyan) and Will Tupou (North Queensland Cowboys).

Last year: Brisbane produced a bipolar season in 2009, winning eight of their first 11 games before slumping to a string of hammerings in the post-Origin period to finish sixth overall. Despite limping into the finals, they still managed to defeat Gold Coast Titans and eliminate minor premiers St George Illawarra before being outclassed by Melbourne Storm in the preliminary final.

Room for improvement: Brisbane's defence will be the chief concern for 2010. Last season, they conceded 44 points or more five times in an uncharacteristic nine-game stretch - including a club-low 56-0 drumming by Canberra - to finish the regular season with the third-worst defence in the NRL.

“Broncos are going to miss the finals for the first time in 19 years.”
– Greg Alexander
The Fox Sports commentator believes Brisbane are in for a fall. Game breaker: Israel Folau is reported to have increased his speed over the off-season, and he will need to be at his best in his new position of right centre. Folau's importance to the Broncos' backline has been amplified by the loss of Justin Hodges for potentially half of the season. Brisbane have won only seven of 21 games without Hodges since 2008. The best is yet to come from the powerful Folau, and his move one closer to the ruck should allow him to reach his full potential.

Rising star: Jharal Yow Yeh, a member of this year's Indigenous All Stars team, scored nine tries from 14 starts for the Broncos in his rookie 2009 season. That was after crossing 27 times in 26 Toyota Cup starts in 2008. Retired legend Wendell Sailor said it was the emergence of stars like Yow Yeh that confirmed for him why it was time to go: "You've got the stars of tomorrow ... it's the young pup and the old dog."

Last chance: The 2005 Dally M Rookie of the Year Tim Smith returns to the NRL after a two-year stint with Wigan. Smith made an unceremonious exit from Parramatta in early 2008 due to a battle with biploar disorder. The 25-year-old is reported to be training the house down at the Broncos as he looks to cash in on his NRL lifeline.

Coach factor: The doubters will be watching Ivan Henjak very closely in 2010. His decision to drop Dave Taylor - who soon signed with Souths - last year appeared bizarre by season's end, after the youngster was the Broncos' best upon returning to the top grade. The team's uncharacteristic defensive woes would have also raised eyebrows. To Henjak's credit, bringing the club within a game of the decider in his first season in charge was a considerable effort in taking over from Wayne Bennett.

Key stat: The Broncos need to cover the loss of Karmichael Hunt, as he led the Broncos in try assists last season, with 21, was second in linebreaks, with 13, and was second in linebreak assists, with 18.

Greg Alexander says: "I think the Broncos are going to miss the finals for the first time in 19 years. I just think the loss of Karmichael Hunt, Justin Hodges, injured, and Dave Taylor, moving to Souths, it puts a lot of pressure on Darren Lockyer. He relied on those guys. I just don't know if their forward pack looks strong enough on the back of those losses to get them into the finals this year."

The Adjudicator says: "This year shapes as an interesting one for the Gold Coast AFL franchise's feeder team. A broken captain in Darren Lockyer, an injured superstar in Justin Hodges, and a coach who will spend another season desperately hoping no one finds out how unqualified he is. It all sounds so dire - and it is - but they're still the Broncos. And for that reason alone, they remain a force."

Last year Greg Alexander tipped Parramatta to win the wooden spoon so safe to say he's got as little idea as everyone else out there

I love it. Someone save that away and revisit it at the end of the year. Especially that Adjudicator douchebag. He thinks he's hilarious.

Like I said, he thinks he's funny. Much the same way that Matthew Johns thought he was funny.

He said we limped into the finals and for that alone means he has NFI. we won something like 7 or 8 games on trot (if you include our 2 finals wins), including a powerful defensive display to beat the Dragons in Sydney.... thats good form!!!!
