With Gamble I can see a bit of John Plath in him, not necessarily a player blessed with a lot of football talent, but makes up for it with competitiveness and likes to get under the opposition players skin and I like that, it's something we definitely have missed. But is there a spot for him in the fullstrength 17? Well the difference is Plath was very versatile, over his career he filled in at every position on the park and that means even prop and in the absence of Kev or Alfie really stood up and filled the gap nicely.

Gamble has shown himself to be a handy when the need requires fillin 5/8th or halfback but has a longway to go to prove himself a week to week one, he would also have to show more ability to cover other positions as well to qualify as a bench utility. I would be interested to see how he fares from here on in for the remainder of 2021 and making what I feel would be a better perspective assessment then at present.

We just have to remember that Gamble has only played a handful of games in the NRL and it is a big step up to ISC.
He is still learning as he goes and if not a starter next year , he could make a pretty good utility. He could possibly cover the halves, hooker and possibly centres.

He’s not played any of those positions before as far as I know and he’d be the worlds slowest centre. Let’s remain somewhat bound to reality.

I like this kid and am really happy we have managed to hold onto him. He can hit, has some ticker and is the type of guy who doesn't want to let anyone down. These are the type of blokes I can get behind.

It’s a good crew that we’ve got here at the moment and the longer we keep all of us together, the better we can go.”

“We’ve had a bit of a refresh mid-season and after that win against the Sharks, there’s no reason we can’t get a few more to finish off the season and we can then build into 2022.
