Game 2 ********SPOILERS*********

QLD win despite two very poor video referee decisions, a few other eyebrow raising decisions by the on field officials, and Billy Slater doing his best to lose the game...

You actually mean Crocker don't you surely? He had a, well, a Barry actually! Every time he got the ball in the 2nd half he dropped it! Made it pretty hard for us.

Billy cleaned up a couple of dicey situations at the back. Yeah he did a couple of silly things. Not his best performance, but not his worst.

BTW, what a legend Lockyer is. I know again people will say he was quiet, but the touches he had were crucial.

I agree Coxy - I thought he was enormous in defence, his stats probably say he missed a few tackles but they sent plenty of traffic his way and he rose to the challenge and kept knocking them down.

Fabulous win - forwards were great again. It has been said above but Ash Harrison has been our best across both games I reckon - tireless in defence and really proving a handful in attack. Hannat was great tonight and I thought Cameron Smith again showed Farrah how you play #9 in Origin.

Big congrats to Willie Tonga who cut the Wolfman in half a couple of times and also to Darius Boyd who didn't see much ball but had some crucial touches in defence.

Blues were very poor - Gallen and Creagh almost invisible all game and they need to rethink some of the backline selections - surely Lyon, Wallace and Barrett won't line up in game 3??

4 in a row is sweet but we need a whitewash to top it off now!!!! _woohoo_ [eusa_clap.gi

yeah i was screaming at crocker, he had 4 or 5 knock ons.

tonga was awesome, and johnson outstanding for someone on a drip all day.

Those two video ref decisions in the first half seemed like they were trying to keep NSW in the game. The Harrison try wasn't pretty, but if it's awarded it's more than likely game over. And since when is the man playing the ball allowed to tackle the markers? Could have been 24-6 at half time. Defense won the game for Queensland and it was some of the smaller guys who really stood out there to me. Willie Tonga's two forced knock ons on Wolfman were sensational and Thurston and Lockyer barely put a foot wrong. Absolutely sensational.

I think the word is should have been 24-6 at half time. If ever there was proof needed that some sports events are rigged, tonight is surely it. No-one could look without a massive amount of suspicion on what went on out there. It also puts a new spotlight on where that stomach virus came from. Trouble for the marketing beancounters and officials was, Queensland weren't reading their script! How good is this team? They took on an officially orchestrated fix of the series and still won! Only a truly great team can do that. Agree with you re Thurston and Lockyer. Credit where it's due, Lockyer didn't miss a tackle all night. Massive performance. Champion team. What more can I say, except to the Broncos in the Qld team, please start doing that every week.

Qld were just way tooo strong even with out Inglis! David Williams arrrrrrrrrrgh thats alll i can say! Nsw would have to start again with an almost new side....morris didnt really make a mark on the game in his short stent on the field. My teams dont like to win lol.... [icon_frown

Sam gets MoM how wrong is that, they must have asked the refs to pick it.

Now for the finger pointing and post mortems. This could get really nasty from the top down. [icon_evillaugh [icon_evillaugh

there has to be finger pointing as there was a loss and the players are the only ones to blame...

They'll start with Archer, Hayne, Harrigan and Mander, for not making enough biased shit decisions to get the Blues up for a win.

Crocker was indeed shit, but I've always thought he was shit so that didn't surprise me :P

Yes, true enough, but Qld would do it behind closed doors. NSW will do it publicly as all concerned will be scrambling to save themselves and will be more than happy to lay the blame with the players.

Well its everything coaching/players not taking anything away from the QLD side they are just amazing ...But fingers need to be pointed or QLD will just keep winning!

For a game they simply had to win, NSW were absolutely woeful tonight. One of the more inept performances you could ever wish to see. If not for Jarryd Hayne this series, NSW would have been dead-set lapped. He has been miles above any other player in a blue jersey.

From the QLD side of things, it was one of the gutsiest wins I've seen. Injuries everywhere, illness through the camp, yet the defence still held rock solid. Some of the tackles were pealers -the 2 from Tonga on Williams in particular were Gillmeister-esque. I don't think we had a bad player tonight - they were all great. Darius Boyd's coolness under pressure in the last 10 minutes was crucial. Hannant was clearly best afield for me.

Now a few other things:

- Trent Barrett should have been sent off. Clenched fist, swinging arm ... no doubt it was deliberate. If the panel hearing the case tonight are serious, he should get at least 4 weeks

- The 2 video ref decisions before half time were mind-blowing. Was a clear try to QLD that wasn't given, then Folau was clearly held back for Hayne's try (he was quite clearly held onto - there was no 'doubt'). Thankfully those decisions didn't affect the result and the better team on the night won the match

- I hope NSW continue to pick Paul Gallen. He just keeps giving gifts away. Hilarious

- Luke O'Donnell is a myth. Was proclaiming himself as the Blues hard man before the series, but when the going got tough, Lukey went missing.

- Good to see Sammy T play well. No surprise to see it came when he had a role running out wide, Still can't see how he was MOTM though

- In my opinion, Gus Gould is the only NSW coach to have ever 'understood' Origin and QLD - that's why he has such a great record. If I was on the NSWRL board, I'd be begging him to come back and coach them again

Bring on Game 3 and what should be a great night of celebrations icon_thumbs_u

Well NSW need to pick a team and stick with it for the whole series (besides injuries). Qld win because of the mateship the players have and how much experience they have playing together as a team and then there is the QLD spirit they are known for.

NSW are a team of individuals playing in a team. QLD are individuals who play as a team.

Yes, you know that, and I know that. But it continues to amaze me how those in NSW who make the decisions have never got it. But don't say it too loudly. The longer they keep doing the same stupid things, the happier I'll be icon_thumbs_u

Though I have to say for a team with the Australian backline and plenty of rep experience, the NSW team didn't do as badly as they could have. So, back to supporting the Rabbitohs and bye bye SOO. Congrats to you guys enjoy the 4pete and have fun next match, I'll be watching and cheering for NSW but couldn't care less.

I disagree, he made some poor errors in both games but he did a lot of work (he made the most metres of any NSW forward in both games) and hardly went missing.
