Game I Post-Game Discussion Thread

Well the Blues commentators opps, I mean 9 commentators said the ref made a mistake & that the QLD should have gotten a penalty.

I don't recall them saying that it should have been a QLD penalty but maybe play on (happy to be wrong). I still think someone behind Tate doesn't catch it and knocks it into a Blue's player.

The original knock on was from the Blues player who Tate contested the ball with. That Blue knocked it on and then it fumbled on from there.

As said, NSW dominated. QLD got better after their first try sparked by Hodges but still just weren't good enough. Lewis and Gallen were outstanding, Hayne proved me wrong and stood up. Only concern for them is their errors, especially in the 2nd half everytime they were near QLD's goal line they somehow came up with an error. IMO prevented them from scoring more tries, considering QLD's defence wasn't that great.

QLD's defence for Jennings try was too soft for origin standards.

Has anyone noticed that Josh Reynolds didn't get on the field LOL shades of Aaron Raper in 1997.

Honestly, they were simply the better team.

These are the changes I would make.
1) Harrison gone, Parker plays his role with more minutes, the most influential forward on the team, every time Parker was on we looked better, his enthusiasm rubs off on the rest of the team. I just don't see a need for Parker and Harrison both in the team and I think Parker is simply better. Obviously someone has to replace Harrison and that will be Hannant.
2) McQueen gone, Papalii in.
3) Tate gone, Slater to wing for him, Inglis to fullback and Chambers to centre.

That's the only changes I would make, they're not drastic but all we need is a few small changes to be truly competitive next game. McQueen offers nothing as expected and while it's nothing against Tate as he's a great player I just think the team would be better with Inglis at fullback and Slater should be there ahead of Tate.

TL:DR
Out: Tate, Harrison, McQueen
In: Chambers, Hannant, Papalii

What penalties did we receive in the end?

Hoffman being evidently metres offside
Gallen clocking Myles in the head then punching him with seconds remaining on the clock
Slater being blatantly taken out on a kick chase

What were the last two?

Seemed line everytime NSW were under the least bit of pressure or knocked on the hand would be raised in their favour.

I said exactly that, and you couldn't say they weren't penalties but as usual the timing was perfect to help them and we didn't get similar penalties when it was obvious we could have.

Dominated in the forwards, moar props for the rest of the series thanks.

Just looked at it again. It looks like Tate's pinky comes in contact then it comes off Hoffman's shoulder.

#4 Fifita roughing Slater up with a cheap second effort.

Just need one more.

Where as NSW are getting penalties for hand on the ball and inside the ten in an Origin game. Please...

Myles only Queensland forward to get over 100 metres.

Yes you must be proud of your captain, what a fucking disgrace of a player, but when you're immune from being sent or binned why not be a king hit cat.

I think you meant to say Hayne lay down, didn't you.

We got an offside penalty late in the first half inside our 20.

I'll just add, I thought all the Broncos did the QLD jersey proud tonight.

Parker best on field.
Hodges second best on field.
Thaiday a solid effort and Gillett didn't really get time to do anything but did his job.

Look man, I am not proud of what Gallen did, there was no need for it. you can call him what ever you want.

I though our entire bench did well with their respective minutes.
