If they're saying Nate Myles knocked on I would argue how can a guy with his head down and coming from behind actually play at the ball? Not sure if the rule changes after a strip but an unintentional contact with the ball isn't counted as a knock on right?
Afraid so.
The rule was reviewed in 2006/07 when teams were purposefully stretching their arms out to play the pass.
It came into play way back in Round 24 of that year when the Broncos played Canberra. It looked as if Carney had scored a long range try when on review it was deemed he played at the ball and it was a real turning point in that contest.
Similar story here unfortunately.
