CRICKET General Cricket Discussion - 2023/24

What game?

WC is on Fox.

Australia need to pick their run rate up. Indian openers were tremendous.

It’s everyone gets a bowl day. We used eight and India have used seven already. Hard to get any rhythm.

We have to show Steve Waugh every time we mention Austin too.

Lloyd Pope might be one to watch in the future he just bowled 9.4-8/35 for the Australian U19s

Updated the list, how good has Andrew Tye's day been? Just took 5fa for Australia, comes off the field to see he got bought for $1.4m AUD at the IPL Auction.

Tye is a great win and story for WA and Langer, Scorchers invite each club to send players to compete against the Scorchers. Hoping to tap into the local scene and uncover someone.

Tye came down in 2013 and then made their OD side had a great comp with 13 wickets in five games and since then Scorchers, Australia, T20 World Cup and last year IPL hat-trick and great figures.

Thunder should have kept him when they had a nobody.

England 6/21 in the first Test.

Bold start.

8-23, dear lord, get the record books out.

Ball 18 over old .I think it's actually getting shinier

Australia's bid for back-to-back World Cup titles dominates the 2018-19 national contract list announced today by Cricket Australia, with a heavy emphasis on the limited-overs formats.

A new-look 20-man list does not feature suspended players Steve Smith, David Warner or Cameron Bancroft, and while financial details were not made public Tim Paine is set to be the big winner as Australia's 46th Test captain.

2018-19 CA men's contracts:

Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Paine, Matthew Renshaw, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Billy Stanlake, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye.

OUT: Cameron Bancroft, Jackson Bird, Hilton Cartwright, James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa

IN: Alex Carey, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye

Well I guess that means Shaun Marsh won't be given the flick any time soon.

Handcomb and Marsh? We're going to cop some big thrashings over the next 12 months with Handcomb and the Marshes in our middle order... Paine hasn't scored a ton in over ten years as well. I hope the people who called for Smith's lynching keep watching.

Out of those contracted players I would go with: Renshaw, Khawaja (dropped for Weatherald if he stays in form and Usman doesn't start scoring runs), Maxwell, Marsh/ Head (if Head can start scoring consistently in shield cricket he should be there, the ACB also have a hard on for him it seems), Finch (check his FC record over the past few season before you laugh), MMarsh, Carey/ Paine, bowlers.

I feel bad for Patto, the guy is a freak and could easily bat at 6/7 given our options.
