Must've been slim pickings that year. One of the world's most average actors.

True.

Shows how inspiring an actor he is when most people don't know he's won an award like that

Oh I knew he'd won it. I remember his closing line from his acceptance speech:

God save the Queen, God defend New Zealand, and thank Christ for Australia.

STORM officials plan to announce new signings from rival NRL clubs when they finalise their 2011 roster this week - but Greg Inglis appears increasingly unlikely to be a part of the squad.

Inglis's future depends largely on whether the Broncos or Titans can go close to paying him the $660,000 a season he is now valued under the salary cap as Melbourne do not want to subsidise the contracts of players joining other clubs.

The Herald was told last night that his departure to Brisbane would now only cost the Storm $80,000, and the club would be able to sign three other players if he left.

The Herald understands that the Storm have agreed to small pay-outs to Canberra-bound prop Brett White and test back-rower Ryan Hoffman, who will join Wigan next season, but will not agree to pay a six-figure top-up to release Inglis to play elsewhere.

I wonder who this works since the Broncos have repeatedly said that they aren't upping their offer from 400k a season. maybe his manager has sourced more 3rd party agreements that don't need to be included in the cap. eusa_think

Gold Coast Titans' covert bid for Greg Inglis

THE race to sign Greg Inglis took a dramatic turn yesterday when the Melbourne Storm superstar made a flying visit to the Gold Coast to talk terms with the Titans.

Inglis and his fiancee Sally Robinson are understood to have met with Titans chief executive Michael Searle to discuss a possible relocation to Queensland in 2011 as the Storm look to shed players as a result of the club's salary cap rorts.

The Broncos remain favourites to sign Inglis, who shapes as the player most likely to be cut from Melbourne's "Fab Four", which also comprises Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk.

But the Titans are refusing to concede defeat and yesterday's clandestine meeting is proof of their determination to sign the 23-year-old, who is almost a local, considering he played his junior football on the NSW North Coast at Bowraville.

The Titans could not have hoped for a better day to attempt to woo the Queensland State of Origin mainstay. Inglis escaped arctic conditions in Melbourne and jetted into bright sunshine on the Coast.

While the Titans previously courted publicity about visits of Jonah Lomu and Wests Tigers rake Robbie Farah, this time they wanted to keep things under wraps as Inglis looked over the club's multimillion-dollar centre of excellence at Robina.

Searle did not return calls last night, while Inglis's manager Allan Gainey was also unable to be contacted.

The Titans claim they have not yet tabled a formal offer, waiting instead for word of Inglis's release by the Storm.

Yesterday's visit was approved by the Melbourne heirarchy, on the condition he report back for training today ahead of Saturday's match against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

The Storm have virtually conceded defeat in their battle to keep Inglis, and they are not promoting one suitor over another, although they would prefer he go to the highest bidder.

South Sydney co-owner Russell Crowe was also set to wine and dine Inglis this week in a bid to sign him for the Rabbitohs.

The longer this goes on the more chance the Titans are of getting Inglis IMO. Only time will tell.

I have no problem with the Titans gettiing Inglis BUT they should be made to pay their debts off first. Picture this the Worlds best centre does sign with the Titans they go backrupt and cant pay their bills halfway through next season and Inglis has nowhere to play. Along comes french Rugby who offer him 1mil a year to play. What happens then?? Its bullshit that the Titans can spend such large amounts of cash when they are 1 of only 3 clubs who needed the NRL to step and give them handouts because they have gone out and spent Millions on some centre of exellence that cant afford to pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he goes to the Titans. He'll never see the ball outside Greg "I'm a lock but John Cartwright's a retard who will keep playing me at five-eighth" Bird.

Bit off topic, but Cartwright is retarded.

Evidence: as soon as Bird is injured and he puts Mat Rogers at five-eighth, the Titans score 2 very impressive wins away from home against top 8 teams...

What's the bet the second Bird is fit he gets rushed back to five-eighth, and the Titans' attack goes to pieces again.
