So much for some of those members here with their 'highly secretive inside information' that the deal had already been done and Inglis was signed and sealed for the Broncos - cough cough AEETEE and Raw Boned Youngster LOL....no offence fellas, but you are gonna look like twats if Inglis does in fact stay with Melbourne or goes to the Titans. Why would you even bother stating something like that if you didn't know for real that it was true. My guess is you both thought it was a pretty good chance of happening so you went out on a limb hoping Inglis would sign with Brisbane - thinking you would look pretty cool with everyone here having known the inside info from the club or whoever...

I am sure Tee only stated it was "Pretty much a done deal" and before the last minute bid from the Titans it was. Unless you are 12 and only ever experienced how business works while playing The Sims or something like that, I would imagine you are smart enough to know there is always the chance of someone changing their mind whether it be because of a better offer or a change of heart.

No they won't look silly. They didn't start rumors nor did they have inside information. They just heard from some mates who know some insiders that he was coming and they passed it on. Just like me and some other posters. They were wrong or something obviously happened and it hasn't gone through! However it still might happen but what I got told will know longer happen as the date that he told me the announment would be made has now passed.

im not sure what you guys think the word 'decline' means, but what Nelly77 posted was the truth. Darren Lockyers career and form IS on the decline. decline doesnt mean that hes bad. as well as he has played for most of the season, the last 2 seasons have, overall, been quite poor. not just 'not to his usual high level' - theyve genuinely been pretty poor.

hes been on the decline probably since 2006 and earlier. to some of you who never had the pleasure of watching him in the early 00's, you might not think so - but to those of us who have watched him for his entire career, we can see that hes not up to that quality anymore. the lucky thing is that even with the decline, and his body showing its age, his footy brain is better than ever, and when he does have a good game he plays brilliantly. hes still declining though, and anyone that argues otherwise is just in denial.

just to reiterate - decline != playing badly.

I think he plays DIFFERENTLY now. But he's not DECLINED. In my view he's AS dominant and important to his teams as he always was, but he uses different skills these days. That shows how much of a champion he is that he can find new ways to dominate the game, rather than rely on the one skillset he had as a youth.

Remains to be seen if guys like Slater, Inglis, Thurston etc can show the same evolution as they age.

Locky is, without doubt, the greatest sportsman I've ever seen.

How about before the Titans can offer Greg inglis nearly 600k a year why dont you make them pay the money back you had to lend them so they could pay their bills and players???? God the Titans cant be serious can they? First they build a zillion $ centre of crap that they now cant pay for so they ask the NRL for handouts. Then they want to go and offer massive overs for a player so another club cant afford him.

If Inglis goes to the Titans its a joke. NRL needs to step in and do something.

They need the Titans on the GC, they don't want another team from GC to go belly up.

It'll mean they won't have any other name players in the squad for next year, but if they're happy to do that then good luck to them.

I won't be impressed if he ditched us for the Tits though.
