Haas - Off Field Dramas

If he ***** up again this year punt his dumb arse and use his money for TPJ

Rising Brisbane NRL star Payne Haas has been fined $500 and lost his licence for six months after pleading guilty to driving offences.
Haas, 20, was caught driving while using his mobile phone and without a licence in Ipswich last month, claiming he chose to drive because he had no other way to get to Broncos training.

The 194cm, 119kg prop appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning.
Haas pulled up to a red light in his suburb RedbankPlains about 12.40pm on March 1 and was scrolling through his phone when police pulled up alongside his white Land Rover.
He was pulled over but could not produce a licence.
The court heard he had lost his learner licence due to demerit points.
“Normally his de facto wife takes him to training,” his lawyer Campbell MacCullum told the court.
“She unfortunately couldn’t that day. He exhausted all avenues apart from, of course, calling a taxi.”
Haas, who played his fourth NRL game in the Broncos’ loss to the Wests Tigers on Thursday, did not comment outside court.
It was his first game of the season after serving a four-game ban and being fined $20,000 for failing to co-operate in a leagueinvestigation relating to an incident involving his family.

Somebody needs to tell Payne about Uber..

That excuse is a comical as some you see on RBT

We’ve witnessed the size of this guys fitness. Someone buy him a bicycle to get to training.

The club has fined Haas 10k for this latest indiscretion. There will be no suspension, he will free to face the Raiders on Sunday

Was he waiting on a mate that works at the traffic lights?

Necessity is a great rule bender.
I am sure if we were undefeated on top of the ladder Haas would have got another suspension but since we are wheel spinning in shit and all hands are needed he just gets a fine.
Probably wouldn’t have even got the first suspension if the club knew how poorly they were going to start the season.

Being suspended for a breach of the Traffic Act would be an interesting precedent.

I would have thought so too but since he previously got suspended for exercising his right to silence its not too much of a stretch to think He would have got a suspension for those breaches but the club obviously thinks it is more important he is playing against the raiders and given our current predicament I can see why.
