Henjak WTF!

Was just on the nine news interviewed saying Dane Carlaw is a big chance of playing centre for this season because he has been playing ESL there. If this happens it would prove beyond any doubt that Henjak is the stupidest coach in history, Carlaw is a 110kg 31 year old who was crap and too slow last time he played first grade so how the hell does Henjak even think this might be a good idea?

The quote I saw was "You can't discount it, he is big and quick"...I think all the sports reporters have overstated how certain it is.

To his credit, Dane himself is in no doubt where he stands. He expects to line up for Wynnum.

Unless something absolutely diabolical happened to all our centres and a few backrows...it'd be one of the dumbest moves I've seen in Broncos history.

As Cox said, Carlaw seems prepared to play Q Cup.

As dumb as it sounds lets wait to see if it happens then judge. Im prepared to give him a clean slate to start with when he comes back.

I'm with you on this. While I don't want it to happen(reserve grade is where he belongs) I'm not prepared to completely write it off because if he does get selected at all then centre is it, seriously he's not going to displace any of current backrowers and IMO he's too soft to play prop.

True and i agree, but we haven't seen him play there. He could be gun or he could be shit. We'll find out soon enough, I just wanted people to look at it from another view other than... you suck Carlaw.

exactly! and people are saying "but if hes not good enough, he wont play" well what about the days when he wasnt good enough and he did play? we had better players playing q cup and carlaw was stinking it up in the first grade team every week. it worries me.

To be fair to Carlaw I thought he finished his time at the club on better form in 2006 and he deserved his spot in the spot then(I do however agree that prior to that there was a stretch where his position in the side wasn't deserved but that was also under Bennett) and to his credit as Coxy has pointed out he has also admitted his realistic enough to admit he will most likely spend his time in the Qld Cup playing for Wynnum. I can understand the concerns if he was just to walk in right now but he has the offseason to show his worth and that at the very least is something he should be allowed to prove.

Yes because like Gillett theres never been a ballplaying backrower in the history of the game that ever played at 5/8th just like you never have seen backrowers playing in the centres and vice versa and you would never have seen a coach of the standard of Bennett make some weird decisions nor stick with players he shouldn't have :roll:
