We're talking about our boy seibs here. That hasn't stopped him beforeFlegler is already on more money than he is worth.

He won't be dropped, and he'll probably stay at centre for now, but if Mariner is destined for centre next year, he should get some time there this season at Herbie's expense. Same with Cobbo. For all those people calling for Farnworth to be dropped are kidding themselves surely. We spent the entire offseason training with Farnworth at centre. No way are we going to punt him before round 1. It would be reckless. Now if we get close to the trade deadline and we are languishing there might be a chance of a player swap or to move him to the wing and play Cobbo at centre. But until then, I'd be going all-in with our top 17 for as long as possible.
That's one positive, I guess. Herbie is a huge loss. If he remains injury free, he will pay huge dividends for the boys on the peninsula. By the way, welcome back. I thought you had ditched BHQ. Glad you decided otherwise.Massive bummer.
On the bright side, at least he didn't go to the Storm.
No coincidence that this news breaks the same week we re-sign Paix and Jensen. It is what it is. It will take some joy out of watching him this season but having both Herbie and Staggs int the centres was only going to end one way when we paid as much as we did for Staggs.
I don’t understand that thinking at all, if we are best with Herbie playing why would we not want to keep him?
It still depends. If he has long periods of ineffectiveness in 2023 (like last year), then there will be massive concerns around Red Hill.Yeah and that's totally not seeming like a big mistake
It was an obvious mistake the moment it happenedYeah and that's totally not seeming like a big mistake

Any thoughts of shopping kotoni around and putting Herbie on the right side? You’re right twice. When Herbie re-signed in May he asked the club for two things a crack at fullback and/or a go on the right.
Which is a players’ right to discuss a position and preferences and where the coach sees them- it was never done in a demanding rock star way.
They got Walsh two months later and didn’t even really go to Herb and say sorry mate I know we said fullback but…..
He accepted that and knew Walsh was the man.
He still wanted a crack at right because that’s his side but with Staggs there it’s just not going to happen. Then financially you can’t have two centres on big money and the Dolphins offer was fitting for an international. Herbie was happy 12 months ago to give the Broncos some time but he has to be realistic too.
Very disappointing, Gonna be a player that's going to only get better and will hurt loosing.
We seen last season we lost stuff that the guys who took his place couldn't do.
Mariner is obviously going to come on next season but he is still unproven with week to week full season of NRL, he most likely will be good but it's still unknown.
Staggs needs to pull his finger because he will only make this loss worse. What we seen from Staggs last season is how much better can he get? Whereas Herbie was getting better until injury.
Would explain why Herbie didn't get any minutes at 1 in the trials.
Sounds a little like the Karl situation if I’m being honest. You’re right twice. When Herbie re-signed in May he asked the club for two things a crack at fullback and/or a go on the right.
