Brisbane centre Justin Hodges could be hit with a contrary conduct charge for his controversial tackle on an injured Brett Morris in Saturday night's NRL semi-final win.

Morris had suffered an ankle syndesmosis injury after catching a kick and falling to the ground in obvious pain before Hodges ran several metres to fall heavily on the winger, despite Dragons players signalling he was injured

I don't think they will charge him, but if they do, Hodges can fight it & say, I didn't see them calling for help & I am no doctor.

I can't believe they are even contemplating charging him.

I call BS. Anything they can do to disrupt our preparation and help a Sydney side into the GF. Is it any wonder we hate the c@#!s

I would of though or preparation is already disrupted enough with the Lockyer incident.

Does that mean you are a born again QLDer .... again ?

Can we get the baptism ready?

Daniel Plainview style?

It was a dog act from Hodges but I don't think there is anything in the rule book they could ping him for?

Last time I checked in Rugby League you need to tackle your opponent.. As for what they are going to charge him with, something along the line of contrary conduct

It was a harsh and stupid thing to do but in no way was it illegal. A charge would be ######ed.

How is it a "dog act"? FFS

Surprised you disagree. It's similar to when half of the Brisbane Lions targeted Nick Reiwoldt's bung shoulder a few years ago at the Gabba.

Everyone at the ground could see that Morris had ####ed his leg in taking the restart. He was on the ground and wasn't going anywhere. Hodges could have claimed him but didn't need to barrel him. Mind you he's renowned for this type of niggling #### - it's been a feature of his game for years.

It's a good thing we won last night because if we'd lost this incident would have been the turning point. Dragons scored not long after it from memory. We were all over them up to this point and the Hodges play galvanised them.

Anyway it's a moot point now. I don't think he'll be charged but his actions definitely weren't in the spirit of the game.

I was guilty of a dog act the other night, the missus didn't complain.

On first look it looked like Hodges smashed him, on the replays there was nothing in it. Funny how Creagh still isnt keen to go Hodges

There was nothing in it and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to stop being a soft ####. This is a contact sport, and Hodges saw he needed to make the tackle. If he ambles up to him and Morris thought to pass it to Creagh everyone would be blowing up at him not making the tackle.

The fact that this is even being 'scrutinised' is beyond ridiculous.

I thought nothing of it at the game - he was on the ground, he had the ball, ref hadn't called time off, he had every right to tackle him.

But watching the replay, it wasn't the best thing to do. Yes, it was legal - but creagh clearly had his hand up at the referee telling him to call time off. Morris wasn't passing it, and even if he did I don't think creagh would've moved. He was genuinely very concerned with Morris.

Unsportsmanlike? Definitely. Illegal and worth the review board even looking at? Not in the slightest.
