Hodges' hit on Morris under NRL scrutiny

If Hodges gets charged I will be abso-####ing-lutely furious.

There is NOTHING WHAT SO EVER illegal or outside of the rules in what Hodges do.

This is the judiciary, not the church!

Won't be charged. It's too ridiculous to be charged. Outrages.
I don't like to say things like I won't support the game anymore but if Hodges is charged I will be seriously pissed off and join Phil Gould is his vendetta against the NRL.

I don't really think Hodges was thinking if Morris was going to pass or get up and run. He just wanted to smash him. And I can't imagine him not seeing that Morris was in trouble. It was a bit low IMHO. Definitely far from being suspension worthy though.

F***! Can't come at a worse time, exams starting tomorrow. I dont wanna have this on my mind whilst writing essays.

On a side note, nothing in it. Nothing to be concerned about. It's a contact sport for Gods sake, I mean what else do they expect him to do?

On the League Lounge, Brandy said there wasn't anything in it.

He said, Hodges probably didn't see Creagh & also that the game was still in play.

I'm just wondering, if we replace Morris with Lockyer (especially if he plays this week), and Hodges with Watmough or Matai, would people still be fine with it?

Irrelevant point IMO. Justin Hodges is Justin Hodges. He plays that way. Many people don't like it, others think it's just footy, but on the whole I think 100% of people believe he should not be charged for it.

come on. he tackled him. he ran up and tackled him. he didnt absolutely smash him. he didnt try to knock his head off. there was no real extra effort. he just straight up tackled him. move on nrl.

This charge is about as soft as Wallaces high shot

The NRL must be so s@#t scared about the mums not letting little Johnny play league because it's too rough they are trying to sanitize the way the big boys play.

If Hodges had attacked his injured leg then there would be cause for concern but they are just bringing this into the public arena where people who didn't see it and don't watch much league are now scrutinizing the footage probably with some soft c@#k commenting on how bad it is.

Way to improve the image of the game.

There is obviously a new charge that the judiciary can hit you with, in Hodges case it is:

GRADE 1: TACKLING A PLAYER WITH THE FOOTBALL WHILE THE BALL IS IN PLAY.

I don't see an issue. Look what happened to the Tigers when they assumed they didn't need to tackle.

It was a silly play but it really was quite gentle. He didn't land on him, he hit the ground first (with his knees) and then flopped forward onto Morris. There was nothing in it.

I'm actually furious with Justin Hodges. He should've walked up to Morris and taken the ball off him. One on one steal :P

It's typical media talk. No substance. They've already come out and said Hodges won't be charged.

Absolutely. It'd be laughable. The only possible way there could be a contrary conduct in that situation would be if someone attacked Morris's leg. If Hodges had come in and grabbed the leg and twisted it, something like that, definitely charge him.

But all he did was wrap him up on the ground. Didn't put all his effort into it. No contact with head. No contact with injured leg. There was absolutely nothing in it, and it's a joke it's being discussed and even more of a joke that people can call it a "dog act".

Everyone knows I have a low opinion of Hodges as a guy, but even I'm 100% behind him in this. Absolutely no issue whatsoever.

Of course they wouldnt. its called biased and its in full force in this thread lol. they would be callling for watmough / matai's head. It was a low, poor sportsmanship act, however i dont think it should've got a charge because technically it wasn't illegal. still piss weak tho
