Hoffman

Now that's just nit picking. This is the first real year for Hoffman in the first grade...

Probally because when Hunt got his chance there wasnt really anyone that that had secured the fullback position. Hoffman is different, he had Hunt infornt of him so it was a lot harder for him to get his chance and he only got to play when Hunt was playing origin.

Look I'm not saying Hunt wasnt a very good player but what i am saying is this, Hunt left us!!!!!!!!!! Hoffman has showed loyalty and just signed with us for another two years. You said that you would bring Hunt straight back in. I dont agree with this.

Hoffman is a great player who has just shown loyalty to us by signing a further two years.......from what i herd there were a lot of other clubs that wanted his signature, but he choose to stay with us.

Hunt was a great player but he didnt show any loyalty so IMO he can stick with AFL!!!!

Mate KHUNT played for the Broncos for 6 odd years and often turned down other clubs chasing him... He did stuff the Broncos around but to suggest he showed zero loyalty to the Broncos is completely wrong. Loyalty has nothing to do with the arguement about saying who is Hunt again!

Not suggesting Hunt didnt have loyalty because you have to have some form of loyalty to play with 1 club for 6+yrs BUT like you mentioned he did stuff us around and the way he waited until Origin was over pissed me off big time and then he paraded around the Gold Coast when he signed with them.

What "some" people have said is that if Hunt wanted to come back rite now then they would drop Hoffman!! IMO Hunt wouldnt deserve that and it would be unfair on Hoffman. I would love to have Hunt back but if it ment dropping Hoffman then forget it. Hunt is gone people and like Gus said today "Hunt leaves and then another takes his place".

Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt Bruno say that he had no idea that Hunt had/was going to sign with AFL. If this is the case Hunt showed no loyalty on that occasion!!!!!!!!

I dont care what anybody else says, Loyalty means a lot IMO!!

I'll take young Hoffman over Hunt anyday

Loyalty means alot to fans but it seems it is dead.... Hunt won't come back IMO even if he wanted to I wouldn't have him back at this point Hoffman is showing he could be anything. The Loyalty arguement is flawed though becaue Hoffman has never been offered 1 million a year or stayed at the club for as long as KHUNT.

Suspect under the high ball but that's my only criticism of him. (Heck, Hunt was shocking under the high ball in his first 1-2 years so I'm not worried...)

Love him, he's sensational.

Actually, Hoffman has been superb under the high ball.
He hasn't dropped one all year.
Though he didn't take one on the full yesterday, but still regathered the ball.
I think ppl are still hanging brown poo on him when Steve Price took the ball from him from a bomb

I'm really happy with Hoffman at fullback. he has been great for us since he came into the team this year and he will only get better.

Yeah, he's impressing me with each game. His improvement over the 6 or so games he's played this year has been remarkable.

I remember when Hoffman first came into the top grade he was a bit timid but he doesn't show any fear now.

I underestimated Hoffman's potential at fullback. Lets hope he can keep up this form and if so he will be awesome.

It's been a great couple of weeks for Josh. He had it tough last season, but it's great seeing him get some positive attention. His work under the high ball has impressed me and I loved his performance against Manly. I feel as if the old Josh was playing, he would've disappeared, but he persevered and ended up putting an awesome performance.

I wouldn't get too carried away especially with the Hunt Who comments.

At the same age Hoffman made his first grade debut, Hunt had already won a premiership and competed in Origin and played for Australia. Hunt was a rare talent, and after 15 or so games was being talked about as a potential Hall of Famer.

But don't forget Big Pete, Hunt would have at least played a good 2 seasons of first grade before cutting Test/Origin.
And I do recall, Hunt was lucky to debut for Australia.
Minichiello was injured last minute, and Bowen was the form fullback.
Lets see how Hoffman is after 2 seasons of first grade before we compare.
And I wouldn't say Hunt was a rare talent, he was the Cooper Cronk of the Broncos.
Does everything right, without being spectacular

Hunt not spectacular? He's had a lot of criticisms, but one thing you can't say about him is that he wasn't spectacular. He was a great defensive fullback and his ball playing ability made him a great extra cog in the backline. Maybe he didn't make many 80m breaks, but he would have had a mountain of try assists.

When I think specacular, I think of game breakers.
Hunt isn't going to hurt the opposition on his own.
No doubt he is dangerous 20 meters out on the 2nd man play.
If the Broncos was down by 4, with 30 seconds remaining and 80 meters to travel.
Would the Broncos be looking at Hunt to do something spectacular to clinch the game in the dying seconds?
I don't think so..
Lockyers and Hodges (when he's not injured) are the ''spectcular'' players in the Broncos. The game breakers.
Players that can hurt you from anywhere on the field.

Bowen and Thurston for the Cowboys.
Inglis and Slater for the Storms.
Benji for the Tigers.

Being a game breaker is all well and good, but when attacking the opposition goal line through a second man play... Hunt was the best fullback in the comp at it, bar none. And I'd say that happened a lot more often than a magical 100 metre try.

Put it this way.. Broncos has never won a premiership with Hunt playing fullback

Never won a Grand Final yes. That is a ridiculous statement mate, Hunt played most of the 2006 season at fullback and played there in the semi final when we beat the Knights 50-4.

Yes, thank you for making my point. At a younger age, Hunt had achieved more than Hoffman had by the time he debuted.

And I do recall, Hunt was lucky to debut for Australia.
Minichiello was injured last minute, and Bowen was the form fullback.

Bowen screwed himself by being a liability under the high ball and not having the same intensity as Hunt.

Lets see how Hoffman is after 2 seasons of first grade before we compare.

Why? Why can't we compare ages?

I'm not taking anything away from Josh, I just think a bunch of people are being unfair on Hunt. He did a lot for our club, and he shouldn't be forgotten because his replacement has strung some good-great performances together.

Karmichael PDF Hunt who??

Karmichael Hunt - The man responsible for many of our great attacking plays in the past 5 years. I find it pathetic that Broncos fans are saying "Karmichael who" when Hoffman has played 7-8 good games. Let's just ease off him huh? Hoffman has a while to go before he gets to Hunt's stage so let's see how we go before we start forgetting Hunt's departure. If Hunt wanted to come back right now I'd still kick Hoffman out straight away and throw Hunt straight back in.

Broncos fans are still dirty at Hunt for the way he left though. Hoffman is the rebound date
