Whoever is closer is irrelevant. Both are extremely talented and both have very bright futures in the game.Milford is a lot closer to it than Taylor at least.

I tend to agree. Once he improves his kicking, he will pretty much be the complete player.
What about Defence?
Revisionist and hindsight my arse. Go read the 2015 threads about this...I think you're getting way ahead of yourself in regards to the bolded.
Have to remember too that, at the time, Hunt & Milford were pencilled in to be the long term Queensland halves. There is no way Taylor was going to overtake either of them. No one predicted that Hunt would be offered crazy money. Treating this like the club fucked up, like Bennett made the wrong call, is grossly revisionist. Hindsight.
I thought he defended really well in Origin I. All the talk was how he would be a target and the Blues definitely sent some traffic his way which he handled much better than I thought he would.Milford can defend. Just needs to do it consistently.
There is no comparison between him and Milford, as they could really be seen as two halves that make a whole. Taylor doesn't have the running game, evasiveness and speed of Milford. Anthony doesn't have the kicking, poise and control of Ash.
It'd be nice but reality says that the Broncos cannot afford both of them despite the cap being increased. You can only have so many million (or close) dollar men.Which is why everybody is pining for the match made in heaven where we get the two of them in Broncos jerseys playing together... the running half and the controlling half.
Wouldn't it be nice....

It's one thing to understand Wayne's decision for Ash's benefit. It's entirely another to agree with it, even if there was no way either half was going to be ousted by a rookie at the time.
Another thing that irks me, is that while Ash won't be filling highlight reels with amazing stepping and running plays, his talents are severely underrated in the way he does so well exactly everything the Broncos lack.
I have not seen a pure halfback like him coming through the system in at least 10 years anywhere, and longer at the Broncos (pretty much since Alfie and Locky).

No, cannot agree. Taylor is the real deal and will, barring injuries and personality, personal problems, will kick on to great heights.I think Taylor has become a bit overrated. He's talented, but hasn't shown THAT much yet. He certainly seems considerably below Milford in terms of talent too.

Yeah.....gotta agree. Sure there are signs, but once in a decade? Bit over the top at this stage.
What about Thurston or Lockyer's defence? Constantly under question throughout their careers, yet both will go down as immortals of the game. What about Defence?
