If Hunt Leaves...

Nah, but it's little things where you can tell someone's not on their game - and positional play in defence, and the way a fullback approaches those break situations is a good indicator. He's been really poor in both departments most of this season.

Perhaps, but it's not like he's been out of form or anything.

He has been playing at a completely acceptable level IMO.

I'm not really willing to speculate on his future until i hear something for concrete directly from the club.

Adequate form, yes. Certainly wouldn't consider dropping him from first grade (Michaels on the other hand....)

But I wouldn't have Hunt anywhere near Test or Origin honours on current form.

Seriously, if he a) wanted to stay and b) wanted the club to have its best chance of securing a good roster for 2010, he'd already have re-signed. He's fucking around. Sign or GTFO.

Coxy Plate and I have been agreeing far too often of late, its becoming disturbing.

Hunt's head is somewhere else. I'm over him and hope he is moved on. Those defending him because he scored two tries on Friday night and did a decent grubber kick, need to get a tape of the game and watch more closely. Then come back here and comment intelligently on his form. To say anything else but he is going like a busted atm is sheer bollocks.

I retract in part my post in the Broncos/Roosters spoilers thread. I don't know what is going on atm. So far this weekend, which I have seen all (5) games, only Penrith in my view have played anywhere near their potential. The rest have been utter garbage, the games have been sterile and unimaginative. Perhaps the game is so fast that nobody can keep up ? And its causing everybody to play crap. Thats the only thing I can put it down to. I'm not even keen to watch a game right now. Although I still will - clearly.

How I long for the good old days when players lived in a district, represented the local people and gave a shit about whether they won or lost - not solely how much they were being paid.

Its a bit like the scene in Jerry Maguire - they all need to play from their heart, not their head. And certainly not for their next pay-check. I'm sickened.

Oink !

Wow.

If anyone is talking bollocks mate, it's you.

I agree with those saying Hunt isn't nearly his normal self this year. Positionally he was off on kicks a few times on Friday night, he isn't running the ball up effectively at all and so of his plays recently opposing line breaks have not been up to his normal standard. I wish he would sign a contract for someone just so that is out of the way and we can see if that is what has his head in the wrong place.

I good friend of mine made an interesting comment last night.

He reminded me about when Tuquiri was rumoured to be signing for Union and myself and other Broncos fans were worried and upset, etc.

He reminded me that yes we lost Tuquiri, who is an awesome athlete and the club would have tried everything to keep. However the club bred more kids and we got new greats that came through, like Hunt himself.

I'm over him, if he stays more power to our club, if he goes more power and good luck to him.

I'm confident that my club will produce or find another great back. Maybe not straight away, however within a couple of seasons.

I like Glenn the more I see him play.

At least Hunt seemed to have lifted his game a bit against Penrith.

I'm actually worried more about Locky - he looks so tired and almost bored.

Agree. Locky looks either too old, too slow, or not interested. Hope he sorts it out soon, he's a liability and a passenger right now.

Indeed - and it's so sad. I wonder if he's well, and/or has he got the same disease as K?

At least I thought Hunt lifted against Penrith.

Reports earlier in the week point out he's making 6 or 7 more tackles a game than he did last year.
Maybe he is just getting worn out and beat up?

yeah, but when he does get involved he's invariably crap. his kicking game is crap. The way he bombed that break by Parker by throwing an intercept....failing to find touch (it was him, not Wallace right?)...

Just unlockyer-like.

Lockyer is looking average at the moment, but he's always been a bit slow to warm up after a long break. If he doesn't show some improvement in the next few weeks then I'll start to get worried.

The commentators said the kicker who failed to find touch was Wallace, but I didn't see so can't confirm.

Agree with the general sentiments about Lockyer. One of the the things that makes him a great player is how he's flawless at the little important things. This season he's not getting those things right at all! He's making fundamental mistakes and does't seem to give a shit about it

Maybe age is catchin up with him? Can he really last another 2 years after this in the nrl? I personally think next year should be lockyers last and this year should be his last rep footy, I'm finally confident we have a halfback who can control the team after lockyer.

I think it's too early to be making judgements on Lockyer. Less than a year ago he was setting up last second tries for Kemp, Eastwood etc. I am confident he'll start playing well again soon if he doesn't get injured. There's no way a demi-god like him can suddenly get so much worse in so little time.

But he has!

I hope he starts showing his incredible skills more REAL soon.

It also looks like his (temporary [icon_pray. ) woes are rubbing off (temporarily [icon_pray. ) on Wallace as well.

Raw Boned Youngster had the hide a couple of weeks ago to suggest on these fine boards that Darren could be one of those players who went on for a season or two too long.
In general, this has never been a policy of the Broncos; it tends to be the other way around.
Of course RBY was roundly set upon by the blind faithful.
Maybe he was on to something.
